Discussion for article #221260
Amen brother, and thanks for your courage in standing up and speaking truth.
This is why Republicans fail at minority outreach. They sling racial slurs even as they resent being called racists, in the very same breath.
Another home run from Hank. Just another fail from racists.
lol Edward. I can understand why people who truly believe their political positions are not wrapped up in racial bias would be upset at the accusation of racism but why would an obvious racist like Edward get angry about it? Cognitive dissonance?
Or maybe a remarkably low level of self-awareness?
Henry Aaron is a better man than 99.99999% of the Tea Partier who call themselves âpatriots.â
He actually accomplished his goals, rather than sitting in fron fo Fox News blaming âthe otherâ for his own problems.
If anyone assumed racism is dead, here we have proof positive the knuckle draggers are still around
These racists are so clueless they donât realize all they have done is prove Hankâs point.
âWeâre not racist, you stupid n(clang)!â
-Republicans
Just like all blacks arenât on welfare ⌠all Republicans arenât racist, in fact most arenât. They are not a monolithic group. Now the MSM likes the distortion (a republican sending racist mail speaks for most or all republicans) causes it helps them sell controversy.
BTW, some racist are liberals.
Of course, all Republicans arenât racist. There are always folks of goodwill who have certain ideological beliefs that skew Republican yet harbor no ill will toward people of color. That really shouldnât have to be repeatedly said as one would think it goes without saying.
The racist elements within the Republican Party are apparent and have been for a very long time, long before Barack Obama came along. In the age of Obama, that racism has become unquestionably obvious. Even many of the attacks leveled against the president from those who I highly doubt are racist are often dripping with racial overtones because they know that kind of talk excites their base.
Obviously, racist liberals do exist, itâs just that there arenât that many because those attitudes are not at all tolerated by the vast majority of liberals and certainly not by Democratic leadership. If Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid were at a Democratic rally where someone brought signs with Cruz or Rubio dressed in a way that mocks their race, they would be the first to kick the person out and make an example out of them. That doesnât happen when people show up at Republican rallies with blatantly racists signs. Also, one of the most fundamental beliefs of todayâs liberalism is in the pursuit of civil rights for all Americans, for all people. That doesnât quite square with your typical racist.
Look at right wing web sites and theyâre frothing at the mouth over this.
Itâs not that all Republicans are racist, itâs just that usually racists are Republicans. Why this is so is still being studied, but researchers are starting to correlate social fear with support for segregation and anti-immigration.
There may be some liberal racists, but not enough where the Democratic Party is defined by them or enough to statistically matter.

[/quote]Of course they are but itâs a false equivalency. The murderer and the petty thief are both criminals. Clearly theyâre not the same.
âWe can talk about baseball. Talk about politics. Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way heâs treated,â Aaron said.
He added, âWe have moved in the right direction, and there have been improvements, but we still have a long ways to go in the country. The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.â
I concur wholeheartedly with him. He is correct and it disgusting what he and millions of other blacks have had to put up with due to the color of their skin. Something they had ZERO control of.
Mr. Aaron you are a good man and you do not deserve what you have had to endure. No one deserves this disgusting treatment except those you perpetuate it. I hope their lives are made hell for this.
There are Republicans who are not racists and there are Democrats who are racists. But what we know for sure is that between 1964 and 1980 the Republican Party deliberately stole as many white racists as they could from the Democrats.
They wanted their votes, they got their votes, we in turn got Nixon and then Reagan (ouch). But in the end the self-purge/recruitment of Dixiecrats and other racists from the Democratic to the Republican Party was good riddance to bad rubbish. And no amount of âWhat about Robert Byrdâ is going to change the fact that the new natural home of white racists is the Republican Party. Because they all followed Good Olâ Strom out of the Democratic Party and across the aisle to Rethug Town.
If the Republican Party had wanted to stay the Party of Lincoln they shouldnât have recruited every last spiritual descendent of Jeff Davis and Nathan Bedford Forrest.
Hank Aaron is a national treasure, and if anybody would know and understand racism in America, heâs the one.
Wait. That white lady on Fox told us that racism doesnât exist in America. Hank, you must have mistaken these letters for hate mail.
on a totally unrelated matterâŚauntpee lmao love the nick u should be the national spokeswomen for depends undergarments the undergarment worn by all whiney cheesy vile petty pissy little republicon bitchesâŚsnark off
Reading comprehension, bro, get some. This wasnât about some isolated incident that proves nothing. A black sports hero, universally acknowledged a class act, simply defends the black President and the office is deluged with hundreds of racist messages using the vilest possible slurs. You donât have to be the deluded liberals of your fevered and much-misled imagination to see a trend there, bud.
