Discussion: AT&T's Merger Victory Against DOJ May Signal New Era Of Media Megamergers

What, you really think that consumers with fewer choices about who to buy stuff from might end up paying higher prices?

I’m expecting that sometime next decade certain shows will simply be unavailable in large parts of the country because they’re owned by a provider that doesn’t have a presence there. There will be shows you can watch if you’re an AT&T customer, shows you can watch if you’re with Comcast, and so on.

Then, when sanity prevails again, about 10 years from now, all those companies will have to broken up again, as AT&T was in days of yore.
