NPR had a former asst SECDEF on who explained the big issue with shorting defense isn’t a shutdown, it’s that there is no actual budget. Which some Democrats have called for instead of more CRs. Where’s the Dem messaging on this? Only one I’ve seen about “shutdown” was a pitch for $. Not good enough. The job of creating a budget constitutionally is on the House. There has been no budget since GOP took the House over in 2011. THAT should be the message, not DACA or CHIP (which should be in that real budget effort, not hostages in this GOP farce). GOP incompetent dnd can’t govern. Warner and Kane said no CRs, no hostages - their colleagues need to get on board.
