A criminal conspiracy in blue.

Trump tried to warn them. “The State of California is sheltering dangerous criminals in a brazen and lawless attack on our Constitutional system of government. They don’t care about crime. They don’t care about death and killings. They don’t care about robberies.” The police had no choice.
FFS. Dickheads.
Well the first five reasons we threw against the wall did not stick, so let’s try this one.
PIGS
Kill the person - kill the story . Naughty , naughty , police .
“We believe that…an SFPD employee was a part of this,” he said. “We believe that in order for this to be successfully pulled off, there had to be some contact between the employee and Mr. Carmody…we believe he was part of the effort to illegally obtain this report.”
Then show everyone the warrant where a judge agreed with your theory and granted you a legal right not only to acquire the documents but to enter the premises in the manner you did.
…
Yeah, didn’t think so.
I thought it was the gun violence in Chicago causing Trump’s motel to bleed money?
When ya got a good conspiracy, run with it…
Actually, most of us are cheering for more construction so the view of his hideous sign would be hidden.
I strongly suspect that Trump’s lawlessness and anti-everything not labeled “Trump” has emboldened police and other authorities (Can you say “TSA,” Mr. Presidolt?) as they prove again and again that many of them are simply bad actors. Trump’s tacit support of violence, especially against those who disagree with him, is directly related to an increase in the rate of police misbehavior.
(To be fair, a social sciences Phd I used to date has a slightly different take. She honestly cannot tell if there is an uptick in misbehavior, or if the REPORTING of police misbehavior has increased in our modern age. At the end, if forced, she admits it is probably a combination of both. )
It’s both: Project-a-Glide in Blue!
Looks like it’s time for another forced San Francisco police chief resignation. Hasn’t been one for several years.
The whole thing sounds like woefully bad judgment on the part of the police. The report submitted to news organizations by Carmody suggests that Jeff Adachi, the deceased public defender, died from drug abuse. It is alleged that since Adachi was a very active and effective public defender, some reactionary members of the police had it in for him, and so leaked information about the circumstances of death that are unvetted and unconfirmed. That the police allegedly went after Carmody suggests not only that they wanted to expose the leaker but that there were, of course, some deeply conflicting attitudes within the Police Dept. about Adachi. Then there is the question of what information the police brought to the two judges who authorized search warrants (there were two attempts by the police to question Carmody, one polite and one involving breaking his door down). Initially the new mayor, London Breed, supported the raid, but now she is backing off. San Francisco supervisors, normally very much attuned to police overreach, have been either silent or very circumspect in their comments. The relatively new police chief (who is black and who was brought in to restore confidence among blacks and others who denounced the previous police chief) may not have enough experience or at least local credibility to handle what appears to be a big misstep. I note that Carmody has not been charged, nearly two week since the raid, but the chief, in justifying the raid, is alleging that Carmody participated in a conspiracy to obtain the information. But this is not going to work. They cannot charge “conspiracy to gather and report news” and not be laughed out of court. I note that other reporters who wrote stories about the circumstances of Adachi’s death have not been charged, nor is there any reason they should be. The San Francisco Chronicle claims to have received information similar to that disseminated by Carmody, but, as they repeatedly state, they came by it independently. No one has busted down their door.
It’s the reporting of family violence, police violence, and a number of other disgraceful behaviors that’s increased. The world has been in hell’s handbasket for a long, long time. People who claim that criminality, especially criminal violence, is accelerating in these times are selling something—generally something draconian in the way of christianism and/or fascism. That or they have no concept of the difference between the factual and the facile. Six of one…
