Discussion: As Moore Allegations Pile Up, Alabama Official Still Questioning If They Are True

Some people obviously won’t believe the truth when it’s not in their interest to do so. No point in reasoning with unreasonable people. Hopefully there are enough people in Alabama not blinded by partisan politics and ideology.

See, dissonance, cognitive. Here’s a link:

It should have been abundantly clear, even before any of these allegations, that Roy Moore is a disgusting creep with extremely anti-American values.

The fact that it wasn’t clear to most Alabama Republicans – and apparently still isn’t – reveals the real problem with the Alabama GOP (and to a large extent, the GOP in general). Namely, that a very large number of their voters are ignorant, selfish assholes who don’t care about anyone’s rights or preferences other than their own.

So, cry me a river, Alabama GOP. You did this to yourselves.

That face is just asking to be used in an ad for a crooked used car salesman.

It’s mind-boggling to me that people who look like this can hold positions of power.

Looks to me like he got lucky at the Gadsden Mall, looking for Moore of the same…

Is it just me, or do all GOPers need to meet minimum standards of punchability in their photos?

This stunning example of derp really needs a caption contest.

I actually think this guy is just being political w/i the constraints he has. At this point over 50% of the republican party is hopped up on fake Christianity, Hanity, & Limpdick, and would not know actual reality from a ham sandwich.

People in the Alabama republican party (except Shelby) would rather hand a senate seat to the Democrats than face the wrath of the bible thumping (but not actually reading) Moore Supporters. You see this in Ivey’s response. Shelby is the one exception since he (a) does not have to run for election for 6 years, and (b) if the democrats take over the senate his life becomes a lot less fun.

If this was happening in CO or NC, or PA the party would have dumped him, but in many states the “Christian” wing of the party is beyond reason.

Or was in the process of getting lucky when the photo was snapped…

They have very rich soil in Alabama, which is why they are able to grow DERP the size of the oversized heads of the inbred Roy Moore supporters.

All of Moore’s Alabama GOP defenders know the allegations of child molestation and sexual assault are true. They just don’t care. Party first for them.

We should just save time and declare nationally that republican politicians must remain at least 300’ away from schools and daycare facilities at all times.

“The thing that’s the most frustrating and the most disappointing is that these allegations reflect very poorly on Judge Moore and our state as a whole because Judge Moore is the Republican standard bearer in the Senate race,” he said.

The fact that Roy Moore is their standard bearer reflects very poorly on the state. And it’s not like the rest of the country thinks highly of Alabama to begin with. I used to live in Louisiana and even they don’t think highly of Alabama. That’s saying something.

“The thing that’s the most frustrating and the most disappointing is that these allegations reflect very poorly on Judge Moore and our state as a whole because Judge Moore is the Republican standard bearer in the Senate race,” he said. “Because of that, for more than a week, it put Alabama in a difficult position and a very damaging position nationwide as far as the spotlight is concerned. That’s not something that we’re very proud of.”

Then vote for Jones. Easy. Problem solved.

That’s because, like Baby Jesus, Roy Moore loves the little children of the world.
I mean, he really, really, really loves the little children of the world.

I see there is a lot of righteous anger in this trail, as well as people pointing to the definition of what “cognitive dissonance” is.

I took a liberty to summarize some comments from this very site under a different article -

You are welcome.

“story is over covered VASTLY more important like the Great Tax Hike/Kill Healthcare Bill”
“and your fate after the payoff?”
“One of Tweeden’s allegations seems to be a little lacking in credibility.”
“She voluntarily made a career out of presenting herself as a sex object”
“This is a set-up designed to distract attention from Moore and GOP misdeeds.”
“Love the Clark Kent glasses. The lend such credibility.”
“The gaps in her story will be revealed in an investigation away from a political back and forth.”
“You can see in the picture he didn’t touch her”
“She is attractive enough to have made a living as eye candy.”

Merrill: “it put Alabama in a difficult position…”

That’s what Astroglide is for, Francine.
