Discussion: As Hearing Looms, GOP's Problem With Women Has Never Been More Glaring

Trump:

“Women are so angry,” … “And I frankly think, I think they like what the Republicans are doing.”

WOW… he is begging for the 25th to be invoked. #iDJiT

A Reuters/Ipsos polls earlier in the year found white millennial men who favored Democrats by a significant margin in 2016 now favor Republicans. Chris Wilson, a Republican pollster working on several campaigns this fall, has found a similar phenomenon.

“The Republican Party has less of a problem with women than the Democratic Party has with men,” Wilson said.

Really? Is this the both sides do it part of the AP article?

I’ve been reading headlines like this for more than 20 years and even has the female percentage of the electorate has risen, here we are with Republicans in control of all branches of government and Roe is about to be overturned. If women actually voted against Republicans, this wouldn’t be possible.

53 percent of white woman happily voted for Trump who bragged about grabbing women by “the pussy.”

We’ll know women have a problem with the GOP when they stop voting for Republicans, and then you will have a story to write about.

By the way, if women actually voted against the GOP defending Roe would be moot because access to abortion services would be state policy in all 50 states. It’s not due in large measure to women voting for misogynist legislators. A nation of Susan Collins.

It is not just white women (yes, that is the demo he is losing, they have already lost others) Republican men have weaponized the sexual proclivities of all women, POC’s and LGBT’s for ages. The discomfort Judge Kavanuagh felt when the the more sex related questions were asked is because, for the most part, white males have granted themselves more privacy in that area than they have granted others.

“It’s a big fat con job.” Hemmingway could write a story and only use six words. DOTUS uses six words that don’t exceed three letters. He is such a master of English!

This professional middle aged professional white woman proudly supported Secretary Clinton for president and voted a straight Democratic ticket. I am also represented by two women Senators.

Damn right

And notice how they don’t bother to provide any of the actual numbers that might allow readers to judge the facts for themselves.

@karscherger I don’t think the comment was meant to paint voting Dem women with the same brush, but the numbers don’t lie. If American women actually opposed the Republican party, we would not be at this juncture.

The issue lies in the vast difference between the number of American women and American “voting” women. Like all sectors of the population, women in general don’t care enough/are too busy to vote. As long as Americans don’t vote, we’ll keep being governed by the choices of the rabid few amongst us (Dems and Reps alike). As long as American women don’t vote, we’ll keep being governed by men who don’t care about women, and the women who play the men’s game for power and fame (see Susan Collins).

Please don’t make this a battle of the sexes, many men don’t side with the Grand Old Pervert party (both voters and non voters) and would prefer NOT to be painted with that over-broad brush in your hand there…

May I call your attention to an election, 39 days away…

I’m not making it a battle of the sexes in any way. The article claims that Republicans have a problem with women and yet Republicans hold nearly every statehouse in the country, and all three branches at the federal level. That doesn’t sound like Republicans have any problem at all.

Many men and women are active members of the Democratic party (and other minor parties) and they work to get decent men and women elected. However, as stated above, our representatives at both the state and federal levels are in the minority. The anti-woman Republican world view is in power because voters put it in power.

Hopefully, this all changes in November. Unfortunately, unless they seriously eff up today Kavanaugh is going to get seated, and all the pro-woman work that libs have done in this country for the past 50 years will be overturned.

The election, as you say, is 39 days in the future, and thus cannot be used as evidence to make your point. Hopefully, you’re right. But until the results are in, we can only site the current situation as evidence for any argument.

The GOP problem with women is that women don’t know their place and won’t stay there. They are supposed to have stayed in the 1950’s and they insist on being in the 21st century. The GOP needs women to understand that it’s a man’s world and they are really only in it to be a receptacle and producer of babies. Isn’t it enough that men have to put up with their nagging and silly ideas about fairness and caring for others? If only they would just shut up, stay home and make them a sandwich!

I’m sorry, have you heard of these things called polls?

So the over 40% of voters under 21 who failed to show up and vote had no affect, it was all us?

I don’t think so.

I have. They said Hillary Clinton would be our president.

Well she won the popular vote so they weren’t far off.

Putin put Trump in the White House.
