Discussion: As Election Looms, GOP Leaders Reign In Conservative Hill Shenanigans

Good idea. Leave the teenage aides alone – for a change.

Rein in.

I don’t think they’ll be able to put the pack of wild dogs back in the fence willingly.
Serves them right though; Boehner hem and hawwed, placating the TeaBag members because they were all so afraid of being primaried, needed votes to get in office and hated Pres. Obama so much That worked short term, sure, but the problem now is these people have no sense or care for governing and all seem more interested in grandstanding on their principles.

Which was a perfect breeding ground for a candidate like Trump.

They built this. And I hope they will continue to have to deal with this mess they made.

Rain in. Hey, why not? They all sound the same, and our spell checker says they’re all godd.

With automatic spell checkers running unleashed over what we compose, our era is that of correctly spelled typos.

Also a good moment to mourn the dead metaphors…

"“I don’t want to set us up to put our neck in the chopping block,” Rep. Steve King (R-IA) told TPM. "

Yeah, such as the GOP wanting to reprimand the House Democrats for their “sit in” re: gun control legislation last year. No shenanigans there. /s

And notice how the press plays this. The article is essentially a GOP press release, stating what the GOP wants to do as the GOP told the media. I bet none of the media stops to think about the GOP’s vile gun control sit-in reprimand idea that I just mentioned (gee, it will look great to reprimand John Lewis, civil rights leader, GOP! /s). And how that completely destroys the idea of “no shenanigans”. There won’t be a peep about that obvious double-standard by the GOP. Media: “Because they are our Republican buddies! Not our job to check facts, only to create innuendo about Democrats and emails!”

If only there was another group besides the ultraradicals to work with to get to a majority in the House.

Paul Ryan is incompetent, corrupt and vile. Nobody in the Republican caucus trusts or has any respect for the muscle head.

The funny thing about the typo in the title is that it’s just as accurate as the correct spelling.

So the Republicans don’t like lame ducks, they don’t want to answer questions about their Presidential candidate, some would prefer that spending be dealt with before the election and some would prefer that the US government not be funded at all. And why are we paying them? Could we at least not pay them for full time if not in session and half time for when they actually are in their districts and doing constituent’s work and not giving speeches at business for campaign donations?

Obama should dash their plans by goading them into a crazy froth. He could hold some military exercises in Alabama, or maybe sign an executive order upping the grazing or mineral fees on public lands surrounding the Bundy ranch.

It wouldn’t be difficult.

Well, at first, I wanted to correct it as well.

Then, my second thought was, well, heck, they are the “reigning champs” in conservative hill shenanigans.

Not so sure it’s a typo…

ETA: I see they corrected it now.

OK, Josh, you’ve got this “rein in” thingie right.
Now then, onward to that bringing Iran “to heal” bitsie.

“Do no harm.” I suspect their actual mantra is “Do nothing, until we get a GOP robot in the White House.” As for the headline, I’ve become resigned to the fact that very few people know the difference between “rein” and “reign.” Don’t focus on the headline, read the article.

Oh shure. And the reign in Spain is mainly on the plane I suppose?

Fine with me if they do nothing, less damaging that way. And no TPP will see light of day in the lame duck. No relinquishment of US sovereignty to corporate interests.
