Imagine reading this headline 40 years ago. About the closest “rush to the border”, about the only analog people might recognize were the “wet lines” of Cesar Chavez, which were a part of an effort to regularize farm labor imports. The notion that the National Guard would be sent to protect America from several dozen unarmed 4"10" Guatemalan ladies with backpacks would have been laughable.
OK, I’m feeling a little bit sorry for your amateurish attempt at trolling, so I’ll give you a free clue. Actual supporters of the Democratic party almost never call themselves “dems.”

As is so often the case with ground pounders it’s ‘Hurry up and wait.’ They get sent there with no clear mission, no support. This is a bad move for troop morale and the WRONG place for soldiers to be assigned. Didn’t we learn this when a Marine shot and killed an unarmed kid tending his goats years ago? Guess not.
The National Guard as been used as a political toy since The Shrub tried to show how patriotic HE was by becoming a weekend warrior.
Seeing as how TX already has 100 national guard at the border, unclear if this will bring the number to 350. Additionally, Rick Perry sent 1000 NG to the border, so this, besides being a huge waste of funds, is small potatoes, but then Abbott is always looking for all ways to do anything to boast PR without spending cash.

Republicans might like to note that the Parkland teens sent nearly a million to Washington to March for Their Lives. The conservative governors of AZ and TX really don’t seem to be that much into this Wall thingee. And how are they going to pay for it when their budgets are in the red already?
