Is this the “regular order” McCain was looking for?
Rand Paul will cave too.
Phhhhhhhhhhhhfffffffffftttttttttttt!
At this point, if it wasn’t for the fact many people, including my own friends and family, will be harmed by this, I’m ready to say let it happen. Americans are just going to have to learn the hard way, it seems we can’t do it any other way.
Republicans and Trump need to own this lock, stock and barrel. It can always be undone by a Dem congress and President later.
So does this go the DACA route? Trump signs ACA repeal. Millions lose coverage. The horror and stupidity (and more importantly electoral prospects damage) slaps him in the face. He gives Congress 6 months to fix the eff-up and give insurance back to everyone.
The problem is that lots of the stuff the GOP are taking away won’t affect people until they need coverage for expensive treatments or get denied coverage for something linked to a pre-existing condition. That takes a while.
At first, lots of people will be thrilled with their new $75/month health insurance policies.
Ridiculous. This bill is more draconian than the last one, yet the Governor and McCain support this??
Republicans think they need to pass a bill, any bill at all, to fulfill their pledge. But this bill is dreadful and will cost them more than if they’d done nothing.
I know of a pool of 63 million adults for which such a plight would draw exactly zero sympathy from me.
This bill harms the maximum number of Americans in the maximum manner possible—so of course they support it, along with most other Republicans.
The GOP exists for the sole purpose of doing harm to average Americans.
Don’t worry, GOPers…I’m sure Manchin will be voting for it too…you know, to save himself from having to be jealous if Pence gets to be the tie-breaker.
According to an analysis by the progressive Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Arizona would lose as much as $1.6 billion in federal health care funding if the bill is signed into law.
That’s all Douchy, McCain and Flake need to hear, that this will kick the poor in the teeth while they’re down. If it hurts liberals or poor people, the GOP are for it, and the wealthy whites in AZ are probably cheering along with Fox & Friends at this very moment.
heartless: ADJECTIVE: displaying a complete lack of feeling or consideration: “heartless thieves stole the stroller of a two-year-old boy” synonyms: unfeeling · unsympathetic · unkind · uncaring · unconcerned · insensitive · inconsiderate · hard-hearted · stony-hearted · cold-hearted · mean-spirited · cold · callous · cruel · merciless
Also, this time the GOP is holding “hearings” on the bill, except with committees that are unrelated to health care. Ron Johnson’s Homeland Security Committee will discuss the bill simply because he’s a co-sponsor.
@libthinker At this point the only way to stop the sadism is to deprive them of control of one or both houses of Congress.
At this point, trying to persuade republicans to vote against repeal is starting to feel like trying to talk a psychotic killer from jumping off of a tall building over a crowded street: you really wish you could figure a way to help the person remove themselves permanently from the scene without having them cause immense suffering and trauma for others in the process. At this point it is pretty clear what the population thinks and the republican desire to repeal Obamacare just does not make a lot of sense.
Same here. Fuck’em all. Repeal it and don’t bug me when you are bankrupt by your medical bills and need to set up a go fund me page.
JFC these people are just out to destroy this country.
This guy is an intellectual lightweight with a sleazy, flim-flam-franchise business history (look it up: Cold Stone Creamery), so in many small ways he is like Trump, but without the charisma. He is eager to be a national player and is willfully screwing up AZ to make a jump to the big leagues of GOP DC-Nihilism. Also like Trump, you can be assured that any idea he supports is a bad one. Just so the Repeal of ACA.
By redistributing income upwards. Who says the parties aren’t different?
