Ducey revealed to reporters he’s actually free. He just doesn’t want to be part of Trump pardoning convicted criminal and open racist Sheriff Arpaio. Ducey added: “whatever happened to dog whistles? Now it’s all wide open.”
Insurrection is near. Not actual seditious insurrection, but a whole sale abandonment of the Trump “administration” by the establishment Republicans. At least I am hoping that’s where we are. Never underestimate the cynical mendacity of an elected conservative though.
JFC, Donnie is gamma ray-level radioactive.
Ducey avoids douche.
Trump has become like a toxic waste dump. No, wait, he is a toxic waste dump!!
Can an alt-president be indicted for incitement to riot?
Republican office holders are more sensitive to the mood of their base than the polls are. And Republican office holders are beginning to snub Trump. Let’s how this turns into an avalanche.
Sorry guys, but you’ll have to use Photoshop to get me in a picture with the so-called president.
A Republican governor doesn’t want to be anywhere near a Republican president.
A Republican governor of Arizona. It would be one thing if it were Larry Hogan, Charlie Baker, or Bruce Rauner, but this is another matter entirely. By the end of the year, he might be limited to West Virginia and Alabama.
When a Republican Governor of Arizona disses a fellow Republican President…wow! We’ve come a long way in Arizona from the days of Governor Brewer shaking her finger in PBO’s face…instead, Ducey’s giving Trump the long range middle finger.
A few more profiles in courage and we could manage a full 360 of these pricks.
This is amusing on several levels. WHAT exactly, would the Governor DO with law enforcement to ensure a safe environment? Watch video cameras? 2nd guess the commander on site? Why not just say you don’t want to join him or have meetings to attend at the office? Or maybe make a trip to the hinterlands? I guess he didn’t want to actually stand up and be counted as opposed to Trump and his policies… #ProfilesInCourageNOT
The take from azcentral.com
"Richard Herrera, an Arizona State University associate professor of political science, said Ducey’s decision illustrates the Trump tightrope he walks as the governor prepares a 2018 reelection bid.
Herrera said the governor is trying to strike a balance between Republican voters who ardently support Trump, and those who vehemently oppose him.
If Ducey avoided Trump altogether, he could alienate voters he will need next year. And if he joined the president at the rally, Herrera said, he could leave some voters with the impression he supports all of the president’s views.
A handshake on the tarmac is the “the least public way possible” for Ducey to show his respect while keeping his distance, Herrera said.
“The upside is that for supporters of Trump, he makes a gesture of being close to the president,” Herrera said. "The upside is that he doesn’t have to be in full public view at the rally.
“The negative side is it may not be enough for either group,” he added. "
Rock, meet hard place. Hard place, this is rock.
GOP, meet brick wall. You built this.
What would the Governor do with law enforcement?
Be ready to call out the national guard and/or declare a disaster if things go off the rails (as everyone expects).
Wrong time of year for an avalanche. We will see a “mud slide” of elected GOTP officials trying to gst off Trump Mountain

[/quote]Maybe Ducey will have Arizona Law Enforcement actively keep Trump away from him. Or he’ll just be safe in a command center somewhere chiilin’ with some Arizona tea or a few beers. Safe environment for Ducey.
I wonder if some one on the Governor’s staff has prepared a bill to give Trump if he pardon’s Arpaio? Isn’t some one besides the residents of AZ going to cover the cost of the Sheriff’s crimes?
And Ducey said on August 15th that he would refuse to take down any Arizona Confederate memorials, because of “history” or some other bullshit like that.
How’s that working out for you, cornholio? (H/T: Butthead)
