“Republicans argue that holding these races now would be costly and pointless, since the legislature has finished its regular session for the year.”

No they haven’t. They just decided to hold a special session.

After a district court ruled last week that Gov. Scott Walker (R) needed to schedule these races as soon as possible, state leadership called lawmakers back to the Capitol to change the law on how and when Wisconsin’s special elections are held. And Walker said he’d sign the legislation.

Isn’t this called “contempt of court?”

Lock them all up!

The GOP is going to do what ever the fuck they want. It seems the judiciary is impotent. How can they uphold thier rulings?

The session is being called to revise the ‘special election’ laws.

No kidding.

This is what it looks like when the ends justify the means…if your ends are voter suppression and the creation of a welfare state for the ultra-wealthy.

But a Special Session is economical and pointed.

And it’s not even April and the Goppers in the WI lege are going to spend the next 6 months campaigning for the fall, that would be in November right, elections.

Gonna squeeze some constituent services in there whilst campaigning?

Jeebus, but I really don’t like these cretins. And our founders must just find them unfathomable. Hell, I’d be willing to wager that Richard Nixon would find these creeps reprehensible. Seriously.

He would find their stupidity the most reprehensible among them

Vos has lashed out at Judge Josann Reynolds, who Walker appointed in 2014, as an “activist” and “ultra-liberal” for ruling last week that the special election needed to be called to avoid disenfranchising thousands of voters in the two affected districts.

I agree. I hate the fascists those right-wing, tea party, nut jobs appoint to the bench to do their bidding. Scott Walker was clearly out to lunch in his own mind when he appointed Judge Reynolds.

Why isn’t anyone taking them to court as they did in PA? WI is a lost cause with Walker who can remain “governor for life” (no term limits) unless dems come up with a dynamite candidate to beat him. Electing him and then reelecting him the Wisconsinites have turned the once progressive state into a tyrannical autocracy. Dems need to target another purple state, maybe OH. I am not saying this because I am a fatalist, but rather a realist who believes that they deserve what they get. That’s what complacency does.
