Discussion for article #228051
“ap·plaud  (-plôd)v. ap·plaud·ed, ap·plaud·ing, ap·plauds v.intr. To express approval, especially by clapping the hands.v.tr.1. To express approval of (someone or something) especially by such clapping.2. To commend highly; praise: applauded her decision to complete her degree.”
Kudos to the 6th Circuit.
And a hearty Bronx Cheer to Gov. Kasich and his merry band of right-wing assholes.
“I expect 5 Justices could well adopt a much narrower definition of equal protection and the Voting Rights Act than offered here.”
Move over FL…the SCOTUS is the new place democracy goes to die.
But the officials in Ohio were voted into their positions. Why would they want to enact barriers to our right to vote? Shouldn’t everyone who loves freedom be encouraging Americans to vote?
I don’t understand.
I know, you’re shocked, shocked to find that voter suppression is going on in here!
If the GOP’s last hope to squash Democracy is to suppress voter participation then it is just that much more important to get out to vote this November Vote Blue and bring a few friends.
The real target of the GOP is the SCOTUS and its future appointees.
Another Kasich failure. There have been so many. Victories? Please, inform me.
If you are referring to FL 2000, SCOTUS was where democracy died then too…
In other words, that’s the way to bet as far as where Kasich and that rat bastard SoS of his goes next.
“From here the state of Ohio can either seek a full court — en banc — ruling at the 6th Circuit or appeal to the Supreme Court.”
Of course the state will do this… It’s what the Koch brothers want…
Can I vote now? How many times?
So FL is where democracy goes to get kicked in the sack
Early voting is key to democrats having a chance to win any elections here. The Republican hold on the Secretary of state office has been used time and again to shut the city vote down. Kasich won in a squeeker last time but benefits this time from a flawed opponent. These creeps are laying the groundwork for 2016 and will not give up.
So what? Now lazy people only have 28 days to find away to vote instead of 35. This will be the death of democracy as we know it.
Are you kidding? They still have 28 days to vote. Are you saying that people can’t figure out how to cast a ballot in 28 days? If that is they case, they don’t need to be voting at all/
