In their court filings, the lawyers for Kelly and Baroni had argued their convictions on the civil rights charges were based on a right to intrastate travel that has not been recognized by the Supreme Court.
Now I have heard it all…
I’ve never understood why Christie was able to skate on this
Intrastate or interstate? Cuz last time I checked the George Washington bridge connects New Jersey and New York.
But the problems were in Jersey. You’re making the unsupported assumption that people traveling on the GW want to go all the way to and over the NY line (in mid-river,I think).
A combination of gubernatorial power and acquiescence/complicity with the South Jersey (read: George Norcross) Democratic machine. The Dems didn’t have quite enough power in the State Senate either. No GOP rep EVER crossed Christie when it counted…
Bottom line: They’re still convicted felons.
Too bad the judge did not find that Christie was entitled to a spot in the Trump Cabinet and another shot at being a sports talk-show moron in New York. Christie spent all that time sucking up to Trump and got nothing. Now that is a crime. Maybe he can get a job fetching hamburgers for Rudy.
His underlings didn’t flip. They’re gonna do the time and go on with their lives.
I have the perfect job for Chris Christie. He sign up to be undersecretary to National Self-Fellatio Czar Cuck Kushner. The Czar needs someone to help with his flexibility routine.
New Jersey
The problems were in Jersey for people *trying to get on the GW Bridge to go to NYC. That’s why there was trouble in Ft, Lee, which feeds into the GWB.
He had buffers, or buffahs, as Willie Cicci might have put it it.
It all began with Fort Lee Mayor Sokolich saying he wouldn’t support Christie’s run for governor.
You forgot the “forget it Jake” part.
Christie ran into the wrath of the Kush when he was angling for a Cabinet position. Christie as a state prosecutor had put Kush’s crooked old man in jail year earlier, so this wasn’t ever going to happen. No matter, moron wouldn’t have listened to him just like he doesn’t listen anyone on his staff.
I’ve been to Ft. Lee a number of times. I’ve driven over the GWB in both directions (but not at the same time).
Bridge Kelly is gonna do some time.
GOOD.
