The exit poll that year was far more favorable to Hillary Clinton in many states than to eventual winner Donald Trump.
At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist I would absolutely not be shocked to discover in a few years that the ballots were tampered with. Shockingly, we still don’t have much info on what happened.
Better headline:
AP Jerks Off AP
“In the roughest years for the accuracy of exit polls, 2004 and 2016, the surveys showed a stronger vote for the Democratic presidential candidates than
actually took placeinexplicably appeared in final totals of states where voting machines were entrusted to GOP officials.”
Fixed.
How much of that is a joke and how much do you think is at least plausibly likely to have occurred?
“Some” and “a lot”.
My wife and I, combined, have about 60 years of experience in IT security.
The Russians have a lot more.
It’s just another poll, right? We are swimming in polls. Don’t get why this is a story.
AP is convinced that science is on its side. Still, it’s a bold and potentially risky move for the news cooperative, which counts political coverage as a strong suit and which has, until recently, pooled resources with ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Fox News to conduct exit polling in major elections.
Yeah, hey, AP? Maybe when reporting on yourself you should consider laying off the self congratulatory masturbatory editoralizing?
