Discussion for article #231165

These are not exactly optimal times for the CIA to insist that the administration of the day push back on a whistle blower alleged to have, during a prior administration a generation ago, (as Miranda of Miranda Sings would say: ‘That’s DINOSAURS!’), under a president whose remaining shards of relevance and ambition are bound up in his hopes for his wife’s career, broken his oath of secrecy about some botch job by the CIA no one really cares about any more, especially in light of it being confirmed officially that our nation’s spooks under the most recent ex-president, with or without his blessing, encouragement or orders, expanded beyond merely bugging and killing folks in our name into torturing them.

Only one question remains in need of being answered:

Is this a good time to give up on continuing to appear to aggressively prosecute Sterling to bluff or bully him into a guilty plea to something he sorta did that sorta looks in the right light and if you cross one eye and close the other while having someone poke your nether regions with a pointy object MIGHT theoretically be a U.S. crime? Yes, this is a VERY good time to give up on continuing to appear to aggressively prosecute Sterling to bluff or bully him into some sort of guilty plea to something he sorta did that sorta looks in the right light and if you cross one eye and close the other while having someone poke your nether regions with a pointy object MIGHT theoretically be a U.S. crime.

Justice for James Risen! Free Ed Snowden! Glenn Greenwald for President!

What’s that?

Oops.

Never mind.

Attorney General Eric Holder has said no reporter would be sent to jail for doing his or her job

That’s not exactly what he said. Here’s his statement:

As long as I’m attorney general, no reporter is going to go to jail for doing his or her job

Which could be interpreted in a few different ways, to say the least.

If there is one thing this administration excels at, it’s cleverly disguised half truths and stealthily qualified statements.

Kinda like “No one is listening to your calls”.

Thanks for the reminder!

Seeing as though you are a Greenwald Fan, I am hoping you’ll enjoy this video featuring James Risen and Mr. Greenwald tearing Jeffrey Toobin a new orifice

Could be interpreted in a few different ways?

Must be the tinfoil talking.

Yes, the language that he uses leaves open the possibility that he could still be prosecuted for something OTHER than “doing his job”.
