Discussion for article #245306
Ruh-roh…
From the article
“The FBI also is looking into Clinton’s email setup, but has said nothing about the nature of its probe. Independent experts say it is highly unlikely that Clinton will be charged with wrongdoing, based on the limited details that have surfaced up to now and the lack of indications that she intended to break any laws.”
If they weren’t classified at the time and even weren’t sent by Clinton, WTF.
Damned emails!
Damn, I hate this meaningless bullshit.
But I have to say it: those claiming Bernie Sanders is unelectable because the right wing loony squad will harp on the likewise meaningless bullshit he spent his honeymoon working on a mayoral exchange with a sister city in the former Soviet Union, whereas Clinton has been under scrutiny for years and is immune for those kind of attacks, need to rethink that position.
I’m afraid that either way, the goon squad will be conducting a full-on character assault.
From the AP story: “They also wouldn’t disclose if any of the documents reflected information that was classified at the time of transmission, but indicated that the agency’s Diplomatic Security and Intelligence and Research bureaus have begun looking into that question.”
Just putting it out there, Hill… Bernie Sanders never mishandled National Secrets.
Neither did HRC.
Possible responses for classification infractions include counseling, warnings, political opportunism, shameless hypocrisy or other action, State Department officials said…
So its a AP article, talking about emails that were talking about a AP article talking about a widely known thing, and then classified after the fact,
" U.S. government’s most closely guarded secrets, censoring 22 emails with material demanding one of the highest levels of classification."
Yes the drone use was a extremely closely guarded secret, almost everybody with no access to internet/tv/newspapers/other people knew nothing about it.
Department officials wouldn’t describe the substance of the emails, or say if Clinton sent any herself. They also wouldn’t disclose if any of the documents reflected information that was classified at the time of transmission, but indicated that the agency’s Diplomatic Security and Intelligence and Research bureaus have begun looking into that question.
…
For those that Clinton only read, and didn’t write or forward, she still would have been required to report classification slippages that she recognized. But without classification markings, that may have been difficult, especially if the information was in the public domain.
I’d say both of these are pretty important to note.
How long has this been dragging on? Sounds like Whitewater crap.
So, the ENTIRE THING rests on RETROACTIVELY CLASSIFIED emails.
At the time of writing/reading them NOBODY not even the much quoted “Intelligence Community” considered them classified.
So it’s all a big scam of Intelligence Officers (using the term loosely) with either a grudge against Clinton (probably Bush appointees) or scrambling to cover their asses (maybe both) for NOT doing their job years ago.
Yet, the AP has not run ONE story about the entire Bush White House conducting ALL their email through unsecured RNC email systems for 8 years.
Typical Political Bullshit.
Oy! The AP article is about as clear as mud.
Agreed. I don’t think many of my democratic compatriots realize just how weak either of our candidates are in a general election. And 2016 was always going to be an uphill battle anyway.
Meh, they have been attacking the Clinton’s for decades and they are still not taken down. Clinton would wipe the floor with any Republican they nominate.
That’s a jump. We simply don’t know at this point if it is a legitimate problem or not.
Won’t matter a bit to the great unwashed. The Rethugs will ride this into the summer, regardless.
I realize it. Not only democrats – the republicans know they are fucked also, but nonetheless, they will keep grinding away on this email thing – even if the outcome of it will be the dreaded President Trump. Our country is on self-destruct.
They don’t need to “taker her down.” They just need to sow sufficient doubt.
