Discussion for article #246870
Youâd think the press would learn by now that basically everything Trump, Cruz, and Rubio says is complete bullshit
Facts donât come with points of viewâŚ

CRUZ on his proposal to abolish the IRS: âNow, at the end of that there will still be an office in the Treasury Department to receive the postcards but it will be dramatically simpler.â
its rather strange that the party that believed in a progressive tax rate to pay for things (in this instance, a war) is now the party thatâs paying to make the fat cats feel better about themselves.
I already file an EZ1040. Pretty close to a postcard. Itâs people with all kinds of deductions and small businesses that have to do do something more complicated. Getting rid of mortgage deductions and all the rest, great. They are regressive. Good luck with ending what are in effect subsidies to middle class home owners. All the touted by Republicans small businesses, not so simple.
And by the way, all small businesses cheat like crazy on their federal income taxes.
⌠sorry, i fell asleep during the second sentence⌠did the AP ever find that fact..
Nope. Our stenographers who masquerade as âjournalistsâ still believe in the Magic Balance Fairy.
In the immortal words of Tom Of Finland Friedman, âGive Them Six More MonthsââŚ
Expecting Fox to push back against things like âjob killing Obamacareâ would mean they couldnât ask questions like âLetâs shift to Flint and without playing the blame game, what can be done?â
Anybody else catch that little pearl of pure Fox BS?
The press does not report much on facts of issues or the complications. They talk about the race. Meaning anybody can say anything they want to with no blow back. And if they try the yare labeled out to get them.
Josh Marshall is right. Trump took some hard blows to his mid section last night. It wasnât so much blood but bruises that will come back to haunt him.
Republicans always like to leave lingering doubts about their opponents. Itâs that Joe McCarthy thing. Trump was attacked from all fronts by everyone on a variety of subjects. He didnât have ready or even coherent answers in some cases. He stumbled on a few to the point that he said something he didnât mean to say and had to clarify them later after the debate.
The image of a man who has all the answers is now gone.
Left behind is the image of a guy who is so âflexibleâ in his core beliefs that he may be a con man after all. It was a Bengahazi moment for Trump and I donât think his supporters are all that sure what to make of itâŚor him now.
I doubt anybody who is still a Republican at this point really cares about objective facts. As Charley Brown said to Lucy, âTell your statistics to shut up!â
Finding lies in a Republican âdebateâ is like shooting fish in a barrel.
Now if you set out to find true statementsâŚthat would be more like finding a needle in aâŚcesspool.
âŚand along with almost everyone else in the republican party
AP Fact Checks Claims From Fox Newsâ Detroit Republican Debate
Why bother? Basically fact free.
TPM:
AP Fact Checks Claims From Fox Newsâ Detroit Republican Debate
There were facts? At a Republican debate?
Color me skeptical.
I agree with you, but Trumpâs fans will make excuses for everything they saw in that debate. As soon as Trump tweets out a rationale, they will cling to it.
