“The federal website and state-run online insurance markets have signed up 12.2 million people for this year”

Not even close to the huge crowd attending the Trump inaugural.

Overdrawn Rhetorical Apocalypse … yeah, so typical of Hitler’s speeches:

“Hitler was a performer and one who had uncanny talent and ability to rouse up the crowds. I don’t think he was angry as much as the audience had tremendous anger, and he tapped into that in a powerful way.”

I am happy to see AP fact checking Trump – it’ll get a lot more traction this way. Please continue, news media, to call a spade a spade. Thank you.

Interesting fact check article. Too bad the AP is fake news, at least to Trump supporters.

America was doing OK on January 19 and it is doing OK now. Ok isn’t really great, but it isn’t an apocalypse. We need a President who inspires us to greatness. We don’t need a President who tries to scare us to death without evidence.

Plus, they’re all Democrats who didn’t vote for him, so he doesn’t have to represent them, right?

It seems a lot of people in the GOP don’t understand how democracy works.

My question is…Did we get this same fact-checking from the AP and a lot of the media, particularly when the entire Republican slate of candidates were essentially claiming the same bullshit about massive illegal immigration from our Southern border (minus Drumpf’s superlatives) during the primaries?

They all said the same shit over and over again. It sure would have been helpful to show how they all used demagoguery to hype this issue and have done so for years. Frankly, because the media let them get away with it forever, its one more reason we don’t have comprehensive immigration reform today.

When you constantly allow both sides to give out information about what is actually happening on the border…and one side constantly lies about it…there should be no moral equivalency to taking both sides seriously. This demagoguery should have been called out a long time ago. The only thing that’s different today is the boneheaded superlatives that add no substance to the already empty rhetoric by the Trumpanistas. And now we have mass deportations probably happening with absolutely no transparency as a result. Great. Just great.

Btw…thanks AP for finally doing your job. It looks like it took being threatened by the Orange Menace to have finally woken you up from your slumber.

Trump is a short-fingered, drama queen wannabee.

Do we have the right to question Trump?
Should we try harder to understand his mental illness and forgive him?
Nah, intercourse him.

The PPACA (Obamacare) covers every single person in America who has a health insurance policy. The PP stands for Patient Protection. It’s not only access and affordability, it’s reform.

Facts mean NOTHING to the conservatives because they frame things using their ideology which is “Father knows best so don’t question Him or you will be punished severely until you learn to be good”. And no, much of the press in its glee to cash in, just turned into a huge version of the idiotic National Enquirer. Basically, the systemic problem, a feature of how things actually work and which the conservatives refuse to acknowledge at all, has basically been abandoned as our society has been polarized over the last 30 years by think tanks dedicated to propaganda and changing brains.

The DNC will be all but useless in the LONG range process of progressive values being reintroduced into the debate on what America stands for as outlined in our founding documents. We need the young people, so we must speak to their wants and needs. Today and for the rest of our lives, we progressives must absolutely dedicate ourselves individually and in our neighborhoods and towns, to developiing and using the language that describes our moral views as they pertain to our government and how we cooperate in this world to deal with our mounting problems. The conservative track is destroying us. The progressive track is where most people want to be.

It’s time for presenting our views in ways that actually measure up to the 21st century knowledge of how our brains use information and conclude the actions to take. Remember that only about 2% of our brain activity is devoted to what we consider as conscious thought. The tools we can use are beginning to have effect with allowing our right emotions in sync with facts to say “Hell no, we can’t abide this lying crap since look how it’s destroying our world view of who we are!” We demonstrate, demand our representatives answer our questions about what they’re doing to restore a government process that works for the people, not the corporations and the ignorant greedy wealthy like Trump. And we telll them what we want, why, and we get to work changing our society into the one we need and want.

That’s why the figures of 22 million or whatever the latest numbers actually are, doesn’t encompass how the PPACA will affect many other people insured by healthcare providers in the country if taken away. The figures look more like 30+ million because of the collapse of the insurance markets if a solidly affordable replacement is not offered immediately upon repeal will be disastrous. Even the delay of providing a replacement will have effects on those in the market looking for health insurance that weren’t covered under Obamacare. Without subsidies, mandates and putting back in risk corridors the numbers could be staggering. Btw, we can all thank Lil Marco for fucking up the risk corridors just so he could have some special issue to agitate about when running for President.

I remember 20 to 25 years ago – shoot, even 10 or 15 years ago – when talking politics with my conservative friends, someone would always pipe in with a comment like, “No, you’re wrong. In the latest issue of the New York Times/Wall Street Journal/Washington Post/Time/Newsweek, they reported on this issue, and they disagree with what you’re saying.”

Now, I hear from conservatives and Republican voters, “No, I don’t read any newspapers, I don’t watch the TV news – it’s all a bunch of bullshit. I do my own research.”
