So is this “I didn’t do it” or “I didn’t know the story had come out”?

Or is it a complete fabrication?

An odd kind of piety: The truth about Gandhi’s sex life

Excerpt:
But was there something more complex than a pious plea for chastity at play in Gandhi’s beliefs, preachings and even his unusual personal practices (which included, alongside his famed chastity, sleeping naked next to nubile, naked women to test his restraint)? In the course of researching my new book on Gandhi, going through a hundred volumes of his complete works and many tomes of eye-witness material, details became apparent which add up to a more bizarre sexual history.

Some of the Gandhi stuff was just plain strange indeed.

Settlements are easy to prove. There is always a paper trail and lawyers represented both sides. I can’t wait to see how this plays out.

not if the employer is paying out settlements. Now he has an opportunity to tell his side of the story, but right now, he’s in trouble.

Think about the great hero of the old testament King David. Sadly, men in power have a long history of bad behavior. It sucks but if we ignore it or won’t acknowledge in some cases because they did some good things it’s going to continue.

OT but Mueller continues to investigate.

Expect the Cosby/Hastert routine shortly. Maybe a fake cast and a wheelchair or else he’ll start calling people up on a slice of bread.

@ronbyers Conyers structured the settlement as three months’ salary for a total of ~$27,000. The whole process was designed for the purpose of CYA.

Validity aside, I’m wondering about the pipeline for these stories between Stone knowing about Franken and these affidavits coming from Cernovich, one can’t help thinking that there are more machinations to be uncovered.

Even if the story is true, that he paid a settlement, then he paid something for his indiscretion. BIG DIFFERENCE compared to the president who won’t even admit to what he’s been accused of. Hold fast Dems…

It’s sordid enough to be true—but I am suspicious of anything that comes from cernovitch, a known fabulist and birther.

How many will we not hear about? I find it hard to believe that this is solely an issue for Democratic legislators.

If the story is true, he didn’t pay a dime. The money for the settlement came from taxpayers.

True, but Democrats rely on the media to uncover Republican wrongdoing - whereas Republicans have a network of sleaze-slingers and front organizations (many created during the Clinton era) who do nothing but peddle this stuff.

$27,000 to buy the silence of somebody he assaulted? Not much of a settlement. The settlement doesn’t mention sexual misconduct? If it was a settlement for sexual misconduct some lawyer didn’t do his/her job.

Before we jump off the cliff over Conyers I will need more evidence.

Reporting out documents provided by the right-wing conspiracist Mike Cernovich,

That’s what the focus of this story should be, not Conyers nor the allegations against him. When the above information is ferreted out and truth told, then we can begin to examine what Conyers did or did not do.

If there’s an investigation to be had, it’s who Cernovich got his info from, and what legal recourse Conyers and/or others have against him.
