Geller—as always—resorted to logical fallacies to defend her scurrilous and bigoted point of view.
She can’t do otherwise—partly because she lacks the intellectual wherewithall to do so, and partly because her “arguments” are indefensible.
Not only is she an attention whore of the first water, she’s also relentlessly stupid and so bitter that wormwood and gall would be sweeter than honey by comparison.
If there is a Dog, Geller will be struck by lightning, and soon.
Two things seems very uncomfortable to me, almost in a dejavu kind of way. #1, we really seem awfully close to going though 1968, all over again, here in the US and elsewhere across the planet. #2, Republicans seem awfully close to framing Islam as an evil that must be eradicated, much in the same way as occurred in Germany in the lead up to WWII, and the holocaust of Jews. 1968 was within my lifetime, and the parallels between then and now are staggering. WWII obviously pre-dates my time, but the rhetoric i see so freely used against Islam by Neo-American “Freedom Fighters” seems to be setting up a gruesome, bloody, and unjust war against a religion, and even against an entire ethnicity, instead of against its isolated militaristic elements. History is repeating itself because we’ve learned nothing from our past.
Sham Seller Pam Geller should be shunned and reviled by all civil persons. Her unapologetic hatred fueled Islamophobia is sickening and intolerable. I find it disturbing that a woman could be that foul and evil. The KKK must love her.
I bet you when that shooting happened, she started dancing in joy. She knew at that very moment, her phone would start ringing off the hook with offers of interviews where she could spew her anti-Islamic bullshit to a national audience. She is scum, the lowest of the low. Just looking at her makes me want to shower the filth out of my eyes.
So you’re saying we could have internment camps for Muslims much as we did with Japanese Americans in 1942?
The endorsement of the TX paranoia by Cruz, Rand and that other idiot Abbot tells me they would be quite capable of issuing executive orders for such if they became president. Who would have thought that FDR was capable of what he did to the Japanese Americans?
I’m surprised George W didn’t round up them thar Mooslims.
I don’t see how it’s possible to take her position seriously without being condescending. Either you go down the rabbit hole and accept everything she says, including wild contradictions and obvious lies, or you treat her words like they really mean something and you’re condescending. There’s simply no way you can discuss her position rationally without it sounding rabidly racist and obviously dumb.
And that’s because her rhetorical shell game can’t work on people whose memories last longer than five seconds. So when she says Muslims are humorless and then you ask her if Muslims are actually humorless, she considers it a trap you set for her and can’t even answer the easiest of questions. And while it is indeed a trap, it’s one she set for herself because her position is so bonkers stupid. I mean, if all you’ve got to do to be tripped up is to be forced to finish your own sentences, you probably shouldn’t be talking. Completing your own thoughts is only a trap if you’re an idiot.
Pamela “Atlas Jugs” Geller is a bigoted idiot. Why should anyone give her a platform from which to spout irrational hatred and deliberate lies? Oh, right, it’s CNN, racing to the bottom with Fox “News.” One should not be surprised by this, but good on Ms. Camerota for standing up to this hateful, hate-filled woman, and calling her on her BS. More like this please, with a big steaming cup of STFU for Ms. Geller.
The essential problem, of course, is that conservatives never seem to progress beyond the “I’m rubber, you’re glue” argument so popular with preschoolers.
Like with American Nazi Party founder George Rockwell, the answer to people like Pamela Geller is simply to let them speak. Once people understood who Rockwell was, he was shunned and, by the time of his death, Rockwell’s group had dwindled to less than 300 members. Rockwell’s hatred eventually resulted in his being murdered by one of his own supporters. If one believes that history repeats itself --and it certainly does-- Ms. Geller should beware the hatred she is fomenting in her followers.
As I was taught in sunday school, Hate is a demon that can easily be conjured, but it is wild, and serves no one but itself.
