Discussion: Anti-Defamation League Headquarters Receives Bomb Threat

If giving someone advance notice you were delivering a bomb was a crime Adam Sandler would be behind bars.

Wow, it’s a really, really, very great thing that Pissident PeePee put all the rumored-but-not-real anti-Semitism to bed yesterday. Seems like his pack of racist bigots got the message loud and clear.

There are a few Jewish people in my neighborhood, that seem to have gone native and seem to really bought into the republican wingnut “Judeo-Christian” culture and heard them express talk radio opinions about other minorities. Hope this type of incidents open their eyes and realize that the wingnuts are equal-opportunity haters, and that no, they do not consider Israelis and jews in general as “white”.

Why won’t republicans call them radical Christian-American terrorists? They won’t even call them by their name!!

“Anti-Defamation League Headquarters Receives Bomb Threat.”

Of course it did. The Trump Gift keeps on giving.

I bet if they trace the call, it goes back to a tweeting android at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue…

“The haters and the bigots, they hide in the shadows like cowards.”

Some even hide in the West Wing.

I’m really surprised that some people have so much apparent animosity toward Jews. Granted have lived in the south all my life, but wow this recent surge really surprises me.

Bannon and Trump have spent years feeding red meat to racists but every once in a while they denounce some of the most extreme expressions of hate giving them plausible cover to deny all responsibility for provoking incidents like these.

“But I think it’s ironic that no matter how many times he talks about this that it’s never good enough,” Spicer continued.

Maybe there’s a wee credibility problem, Spicy. The lack of action speaks far louder than words.

He’s got DHS using the slightest pretense to hunt down immigrants like animals. Meanwhile, bomb threats by the dozens get reluctant lip service and Spicy thinks American Jews and their friends should be gushing with gratitude for that.

Trump: Antiwhatsits is really, really bad. Like very, very, bigly bad. That’s why I’m putting my great friend, Steve Bannon, in charge of finding these bad hombres.

I am surprised as well. I too grew up in the south and never heard any real hate directed at Jewish people. Sure, there was the “need to accept Christ to get to heaven” meme that some would bring up when discussing religion, but no real animosity there. There was always a fair amount of ugly racism directed at black folk, and in recent decades at Muslims, but Jews were not part of those discussions. Only every now and then would I encounter some hardcore hater who, along with railing about blacks, Muslims, Mexicans, gays, liberals and other groups would add Jews to the mix. This wave of active antisemitism has caught me by surprise too.

Yeah as far as not hearing it in certain locations I think it’s a matter if there aren’t a lot of “those” people around, there’s not as much need to bitch and moan about them.

I think Trump’s reterotic during the campaign and then his “win” has cause folks that feel this way to think they now have freedom to be more vocal and physical about it. Aziz speaks toward that some here.

Nice to see the ADL finally coming around. Last I remember they were busy spending much of the 2016 campaign cycle defending Trump and attacking Democrats.

“After having carefully reviewed the speech, we do not believe that it was Donald Trump’s intention to evoke anti-Semitic stereotypes,” Jonathan Greenblatt, the league’s CEO, said in a statement."

“I think it is worth nothing that whether you like this President-elect or not… This man walks into the Oval Office with a more intimate relationship with the Jewish people than any other president in the history of the United States of America. So I just wanted to point that out.”

And acknowledging Trump’s leadership in the fight against anti-Semitism, because, as Trump himself observed, “I am the least anti semitic person you will ever meet.”

Did he really say that? Jeez, what a tool.
