Discussion: Anti-Abortion Group Slams GOP Spending Bill With Funds For Planned Parenthood

WHO GIVES A FLIP what these morons ‘think’? They are stupid and wrong and abortion is the law of the land. We have the Hyde Amendment to protect their precious little …whatevers. I, myself, am tired of funding Corporate Welfare which I’m sure a bunch of these sanctimonious jackholes support. This is the UNITED STATES and we will accommodate groups.

The right to lifers would rather see women getting sick and dying from back alley abortionists. Shows what hypocrites they really are.

None of the money in the budget goes to provide abortions. This is a Zombie lie.

But some of the money for women’s health goes to Planned Parenthood, and women need to be punished for getting healthcare from a group who also provide healthcare the forced-birthers don’t like. Remember, these are the same people who wanted to make it illegal for anyone receiving federal funding to even mention abortion.

But these sanctimonious twits haven’t noticed that no, reconciliation is reserved in this congress for giving tax cuts to the rich.

They are only ‘for’ the life(s) they deem worthy. Period.

This is going to be the song and dance for years to come. The GOP does not care about abortion except to pander to backward dipshits who don’t understand basic biology

Because if I want to reduce abortions, the last thing I want to do is support an organization that helps women procure and use birth control in a responsible way.

“With pro-life Republican majorities in both houses, it is incredibly disappointing that any Republican spending bill would contain continued funding for Planned Parenthood,”

First, you are not pro-life. You are anti-choice.

Second, you have been, and will always be a mark for the GOP. An ATM and a bunch of rubes playing Charlie Brown to their Lucy.

Most of the forced birthers have no idea it was Republican judges who brought us the Rove v Wade decision. Of the seven who voted for Roe v Wade, five were Republican appointed by Nixon and Ike. One Democrat and one Republican dissented.
Interesting fact: Many on the right love Russia because of their anti gay laws and their support of the Orthodox church, but Russia had the most abortions per capita in the world in 2010. From Wikipedia:

Despite a significant reduction in the abortion to birth ratio since the mid-1990s, the countries of the former Soviet Union maintain the highest rate of abortions in the world. In 2001, 1.31 million children were born in Russia, while 2.11 million abortions were performed. In 2005, 1.6 million abortions were registered in Russia; 20% of these involved girls under the age of 18. Official statistics put the number at 989,000 in 2011, though Russian pro-life activists say that number is much higher.
During the 2000s, Russia’s steadily falling population (due to both negative birthrates and low life expectancy) became a major source of concern, even forcing the military to curtail conscription due to shortages of young males. On 21 October 2011, the Russian Parliament passed a law restricting abortion to the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, with an exception up to 22 weeks if the pregnancy was the result of rape, and for medical necessity it can be performed at any point during pregnancy. The new law also made mandatory a waiting period of two to seven days before an abortion can be performed, to allow the woman to “reconsider her decision”. Abortion can only be performed in licensed institutions (typically hospitals or women’s clinics) and by physicians who have specialized training. The physician can refuse to perform the abortion, except the abortions for medical necessity.

Funny how they can overlook something that they’re supposed to care so much about because of the gays. Remember how they screamed about that Godless China when all the while Russia was the abortion champion of the world on a per capita basis?

Its been that way since Roe v. Wade was handed down. Its the biggest cash cow in the history of politics. And yet, despite, what 40 plus years…including St. Ronnie, H.W., W. and now Trump all naming Justices to the SCOTUS, they have never gotten around to overturning Roe v. Wade.

Precisely because it IS a cash cow for the GOP.

Or that according Kaiser, Florida has almost twice the number of abortions per capita than Oregon, and Mississippi is the second highest states (after New Mexico) with the number of teen pregnancies (and places like Oregon, like many blue states are near the lowest (New Hampshire) when it comes to teen pregnancy per capita.

Do you suppose those numbers might have something to with sex education classes versus “abstinence only” teachings?

I am Sooo Sooo happy to see another satisfied group of donnie supporters …

This is what it looks like when you get tired of all the ’ winning ’ —

Would they be happy to fund ‘Unplanned Parenthood’ because that is what they are fighting for.

I always wonder if PP found a way to drop the abortion portion of their business and separate it out to some other organization, would the ring wing loonies back off.

PP is 97% something other than abortions and that is the services that are always brought up that would be taken down as well.
Maybe they just have to reshuffle the deck chairs a bit and take away their opponents thunder?
