Discussion: Another GOP Rep. Compares Access to Health Care To Buying A Cell Phone (VIDEO)

America is Regressing into a Developing Nation for Most People

Excerpt:
The two sectors, notes Temin, have entirely distinct financial systems, residential situations, and educational opportunities. Quite different things happen when they get sick, or when they interact with the law. They move independently of each other. Only one path exists by which the citizens of the low-wage country can enter the affluent one, and that path is fraught with obstacles. Most have no way out.

Why did this person get elected?

This guy is not just cruel, he is completely uneducated, himself.
Was he home-schooled? What college did he go to?
He doesn’t have the knowledge base or reasoning skills of a 10th grader.

Nice find. I’ve been saying for ages that we have two separate and only somewhat interactive economies in this country. Nothing brought it home for me more than watching one of CNN’s bobbleheads, in like 2010, bobble his way through a series of charts and data showing that the market for luxury goods merrily continued to grow and thrive during most of the Great Recession…shit like Gucci and Mercedes Benz and yachts. The Princeton study showing we’ve waltzed gleefully into plutocracy helps highlight it too. We can hope for something to magically change it, but we all know how this story ends: torches and pitchforks…every…time.

Speaking of buying and healthcare, Warren needs to start hitting the salad bar side of the cafeteria…

Don’t buy a ‘flip phone’? Can’t he just use his CB radio 10-4?

Where do these blackhearted imbeciles come from?

"If you don’t want a flip phone, don’t buy a flip phone.”

Yeah, and if I ever need heart surgery, I’ll just have to cancel my land line and HBO. No big deal, dumbfuck.

With guys like this representing us and Trump and crew in the admin we can look foward to the modern dark ages. And the unfortunate thing is many of those most hurt by these self serving simple minded legislators will vote for them time and time again.

“I don’t believe that the taxpayers here are entitled to give that to him."

Is that a transcription error or is this guy even more addled than your typical GOPer?

When you get sick you have no choice but to use healthcare. Of course you could just die. That’s a true death panel.

“his skills are focused in a industry that doesn’t have the kind of options that you want him to have for health care”

Silly person, if you want your kids to have healthcare when they’re adults, tell them to work in the finance industry or for a legislature.

Another variation old the “Pull your self up by your bootstraps” nonsense. If we really want a meritocracy, assure everyone has the same starting point. Everyone goes to the same schools has the same health care etc and pay for it by a large progressive inheritance tax. Some how I don’t think that will fly with the silver spoon crowd.
Also I guarantee that if you tried to actually pull yourself up by your boot straps you would be on your ass.

Davidson noted that most Americans “earn” health care through their employer

OK, I call BULL PHUCKY, so what that employer paid coverage is getting skimpier and skimpier by the day…

Back in 1987, the supposedly good days of employer paid coverage, I had a 100% paid by my employer Platinum Health Care Policy, zero co-pays, etc… Still needed to pay out over $20K per month for unreimbursed medications. Result was that some years later my retirement savings of over $3Million was gone and I declared bankruptcy. Once that bankruptcy hit I never did recover financially. Now, I am as the REPUGS state “A Taker” as I am dependent on SS and Medicare for income and HC coverage. My brain tumor has returned and I am not sure how I’m going to pay the 20% not covered by Medicare, guess another bankruptcy is in the wind…

I’m sorry but I can’t WAIT for this fat little fker to actually NEED his health care…hopefully when he is no longer elected to a position that GIVES good health care and see how his tune changes. Wait, WHAT, you aren’t GETTING good health insurance when you no longer are living on the government dole? Why the FK would that be???

OK - That didn’t work. Cue Fox Noose to drag out the sixth generation Black welfare queens driving two Cadillacs.

Umm…flip phone? Pretty sure it’s Smartphones that the BS Ryan-trump talking pts want you to compare with life-saving medical care. But I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that an asshat like this joker doesn’t have the word “smart” in his vocabulary.

I vote we get legislation that says any congress(wo)man who uses this analogy immediately loses their health insurance and see how nicely they get along without it.
