One thing mAnn doesn’t understand. Yes, Richard Nixon did drop his fight in Illinois in 1960. Not for any upstanding principle, but for a more sinister reason: The Republicans in southern Illinois were stuffing the ballot boxes as well. Had the Cook County boxes been challenged, then all boxes would be challenged. In 1960, the Illinois Republicans weren’t as successful in their crimes as were the Democrats in Chicago.

As a sidebar.
Years back, from an individual I know to be truthful-- I was imparted with the physical location of where Texas ballot boxes were stuffed for Kennedy in '60.
As he’s a diehard ® with whom I don’t talk politics-- I was somewhat shocked when he told me.

That working ranch still exists in South Texas.
