Two interesting observations I had about this piece last night:
First, Maher let it slip that he checked with Ann to make sure that the guests were acceptable. So, he gave her veto power over his guests
Second, At one point Gutierrez was trying to make a point, and in typical Coulter fashion she preceded to try and shout him down. But he refused to stop talking while she continued to try to talk over him. Maher stepped in…and scolded Gutierrez for trying to talk over his guests.
But if you watch, its very clear that Coulter was the one who started talking over Gutierrez, and refused to stop until Maher stepped in.
I know they used to date, but the favoritism that he shows her when she appears on his show just makes my jaw drop to the floor.

You know…the illegal immigration that isn’t actually happening and isn’t overrunning our country and is being encouraged by corporations…
But don’t worry about it…after all, Coulter can’t be bothered with facts or giving up her hatred of non-whites.

Maher is a dipshit. That he happens to hold some progressive opinions (you can argue about which ones) doesn’t preclude the fact that he’s an egocentric Hollywood dipshit. And Coulter is like a cartoon in a Goebbels-edited newspaper. That her schtick is transparently “outrageous” solely for the purpose of making her money doesn’t render it any less hateful.
Maher booking people like this legitimizes them. He should stop.

Yes, I agree. But seeing Bill rush to her defense and giving her veto power over his guests as a condition of her appearance was just staggering.
And of course, she didn’t miss the opportunity to insult his audience as well. Near the end she made a few glib little insults directly at them.

I was commenting on that while watching it last night when it hit me. I totally get why she would want to date Bill instead of someone of her own ilk. Just watch the bozo from Daily Caller and watch Bill. The first one can’t even dress himself without looking odd (a bright green plaid??), and you can almost read that he thinks he has a chance with her because…republians!!. Then there is Bill playing the partymeister role and making even her laugh.
Its a no brainer even for Coulter.
Now, why Bill would want to lay down with her…I am still flummoxed on that one. And I LIKE blondes. (But not that one)

I would have showed up with some very rotten and soft tomatoes. Coulter once showed up here in Tucson for a talk and when she dove into her usual BS a couple students rather gently tossed various vegetables at her. She reacted as you would expect. “I’m being assaulted!! Ack! Ack!”
I’m still transfixed that anyone would pay her any attention. I would not fret at her absence should she move on to another form of income that is less in the public eye…

Don’t forget that Maher helped launch the career of Christine (“I’m not a witch”) McDonnell. Maher allowed her to appear on his show all through the Clinton impeachment saga as the “director” of SALT (Savior’s Alliance for Lifting the Truth). Christine wasn’t just the director, she was the receptionist, cleaner, typist and only member.

For those of you who watched this clip , I offer my sincere admiration.
I, however, need to keep what bit of sanity about me so chose not to listen beyond Coulter’s "Well, i addressed (the lack of statistics of undocumented Mexican rapists) in my book.
