I want to believe that the mid-terms will make a difference and that we will begin to drag our country out of the deep hole we are in, but tRump and his enablers are strutting around with so much confidence, that I fear the fix is in. With gerrymandering, voter suppression, and foreign fingers on the balance scale, it is going to be a tough slog to get the voices of the majority of Americans heard.
There’s scant evidence that voter suppression is stopping Democratic leaning voters from voting. It’s actually making people more determined to vote. There’s no foreign influence in this cycle. Gerrymandering, in my view, will end up being as much of a problem, if not more, for the Republicans than the Democrats. The GOP has spread its vote out too thinly over too many districts and competitive Dem candidates are going to be able to win more races than current polls predict as a result.
Just go vote. If we lose, it will be because more people on their side bothered to vote as compared to folks on our side. It’s that simple.
Republicans are liars. The fact checkers have looked at their last minute but I am in there video political campaigns and they tail out and out lies about the Democrats. One line Republicans favor pre-existing conditions and making sure these people are insured be careful read the fine print the fact check They are liars. Too many paid out two young children immigrants again lies out and out lies.
Republicans are liars!

Here in Chicago, we will vote early, vote often, and vote straight Democratic. Gov Rauner is toast.
I often thought the same. But would Trump be doing all these rallies encouraging his admirers to get out and vote if it was in the bag? I know a narcissist most likely enjoys a cheering crowd but JFC, it seems like there’s a rally every other night. I watch most of them because it’s important to see and comprehend that yes, it really can happen here. Voter registration is way up and it started quite a while ago. Young voters seem to be really motivated against Trump.and they’re registering to vote like never before. I’m not generally a optimist, but I suspect we can overcome their usual tricks to cage the ballot box with high numbers. I think we have a real shot at taking the House. The Senate would be too hard to achieve.
I wish i had a time machine to travel 19 days in the future, i can’t stand listening to all this crap on MSNBC about polls and Dems losing in the polls because of the Kavaugh bump.
I’m so tired of MSM when it comes to polls and races and they’re favorite game of shitting on the Dems.
Aaaarrrgh! I am so envious! Not one single minute of early voting in Kentucky. No absentee ballots unless you’re on your fucking deathbed and have affidavits from three doctors to prove it (very slight exaggeration.) You show up in person at your very inconvenient polling place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on a work day or you’re shit out of luck.
You do have to show ID, but a Social Security Card or anything with a picture is accepted, or even nothing if the election judges know you personally.
Take your family, take your friends, take your neighbors, take your dogs. VOTE!
This is the best advice I’ve heard. Just vote. The noise from partisans at this point is both distracting and, possibly, demoralizing. It’s all white noise.
Governor Rauner is a dead man walking. I hope his expected massive loss kills a bunch of Trump GOP scumbags like Peter Roskam, one of the authors of the universally reviled tax bill
If you’re a Democrat, those Arizona numbers are horrifying. Monster early voting turnout among white Baby Boom conservatives, almost no increase on 2014 among younger voters. Wonder what’s happening elsewhere. Florida bears close watching in this context…
We’re almost there!
Get people to the polls and vote like your life depended on it. It does.
The turnout in Georgia’s Democratic leaning counties in the ATL area has been pretty impressive.
I also think that we’re seeing signs that Dems may outperform the GOP in Florida by the time the early in person and absentee voting is done. The GOP usually has an edge in early mail in voting, but I see that margin diminishing fairly significantly this year. As of this morning, the GOP had about a 46k lead in ballots cast (6% or so) which appears to be cut in half from 2014. In addition, when you factor in the NPA (indie vote) it’s 55% non-GOP. Dems usually dominate in the in person EV, and so I think we’re headed to a point where Dems will be in a very good position following the EV period to close the deal on E-Day.
PP was strutting around doing rallies six months ago, a year ago. Even shortly after he was inaugurated. He was strutting around doing rallies even when he thought he was going to lose the election badly. He’s an attention seeking, narcissist who desperately needs his ego stroked 24/7. Doing rallies for him is like your dog getting his belly rubbed. He’s going to enjoy it just as much whether or not he just ate your favorite pair of shoes and pooped on the couch.
White voters are way up too. I hope this isn’t good news for Republicans.
As they say in the south “Bless your heart” - when they really feel sorry for you. You are far better than I am @bonvivant, during the campaign I listened to that buffoon – now I cannot even bear to hear his false voice and I mute or fastforward, or switch to something else. Hopefully you have some antidote to the exposure to donald.
This stat below on EV in GA is one of the most telling to me.
It shows that the caucasian share of the EV has declined by over 8%, while every non-white demo is up. In addition, the share of 65+ voters has dropped substantially by about 11 points. While the 65+ has been a pro-Dem leaning group in national polling throughout this election cycle, I don’t think that’s the case in GA, as older voters do tend to be the most conservative in the South.
I think this is the trend that you will see in every state, from New York to NC to FL to MO to TX to NV to CA.
In addition, the trend of increased white voter support for Democrats will also be demonstrated. This is most clearly evidenced in the midwest with respect to polling, but I’d also note that the Dems are achieving their best numbers among white voters in the South since 1976. The reason why I’ve been bullish about Dem prospects is because of increased white voter support to supplement increased minority participation. The distribution of the Democratic vote is much better from a strategic standpoint. This is why I believe the Dems are more likely to exceed House forecast projections.
Keep voting, canvassing, contributing and supporting Dem candidates. I see a lot of good signs out there.
The most common request so far, demographics through this point in early voting compared to 2014. Well, here you go. pic.twitter.com/jpBSElaI6L

In the senate it may matter, not sure about the others. The fact of the matter is that the hearing may have motivated more Trump supporters. They love fights like that.
