Discussion: An Open Letter To Fox News

Discussion for article #228146

Fantastic.

The other point I’d like to see made is that this is a guy who is always talking about supporting the military – as Jon Stewart noted, he said we should always respect the people defending us – yet if it’s a woman doing it they’re ripe for abuse.

Hats off to you all!

Somehow, I don’t think this letter will be reported Fox News, and this freak Bolling will manage to keep his job, because he speaks to the like-minded lunatic geriatric misogynist bigots at the core of their demographic.

Gutfeld is a bully, plain and simple. His ilk are the GOP core. Over the past 20 years their remarks become more shrill and their ā€œhumorā€ more strained as the world moves on and makes them irrelevant.

None of us could write or say it better than this letter does - BRAVO! (and, yes, it should be read on the air by the offending party)

Can anyone just imagine if anyone employed by MSNBC had made this disgusting comment? They would have immediately been fired and yet this POS will still have a job at Fux News.

ā€œā€¦you are actively hurting the missionā€¦ā€

Oh, don’t worry about him.

He’s making a ton of money off it, and opening up future opportunities in the conservative ā€œmovementā€ industry. He’ll be fine, especially with his interests protected by women in combat.

This reminds me of the time I visited the U.S.S. Arizona. Before beginning the boat ride to the memorial, a young sailor made a short speech in which he told us, basically, that he and his fellow sailors regarded the dead in the ship as comrades and we should conduct ourselves accordingly. This letter reminds me of the dignity and sense of connection the young man showed us. The letter’s signers understand who Major Mansouri is and how to value her. And in rejecting Bolling and Gutfeld’s apologies, they seem to understand another thing—that those men aren’t equipped to understand their own lack of seriousness or dignity. Mansour was a distant, alien person to them, and a figure of fun. But the military and decent, understanding people everywhere recognize that she’s a brave, talented, determined person, and a comrade in a long, hard fight against brutal extremists. So thank you and good luck to the letter writers. You’re far from alone.

So true whether abroad or here at home and across ā€˜missions’.

Awesome! The best part is how many men AND women signed the letter. Way to put the ā€œmenā€ at Fox to shame!

Amen. Those of us that live in conservative areas know how true that is. They can deny their hate behind their ā€œhumorā€ on television and in blue areas because people can’t believe the stereotype is true. Believe me, when they think they’re completely among ā€œtheir sideā€, it gets even worse.

These signatories think Bolling and Gutfeld are in charge. They are not. Murdoch, and Ailes are in charge (plus the VP for news under Ailes). If you want change, publicly humiliate the bosses.
