Discussion: An Arkansas Lawmaker Is Already Nudging Sen. Cotton To Run For President

Discussion for article #234208

Run Cotton Run! We need more people who know nothing about the world to run for President. Maybe the Dems will have the spine to call him a traitor to his face.

An other wonderful idea from Arkansas! (The other one was “chicken and waffles”, btw.)

The guy unwitting reveals he does not understand the inner workings of the US government, and you want him to run for president?

The Republican party in a nutshell.

Dave, I love chicken and waffles! Love them with gravy! Love them with syrup! Love them with both!! But I do not love Tom Cotton.

“Politics, if I’ve learned anything, it changes every day and there could be the great next hope show up tomorrow. But I don’t think it’s reasonable to say I wouldn’t be looking at Tom Cotton to have that opportunity.”

If you think an idiot like Tom Cotton is qualified to become President, then no, you haven’t learned anything.

Go ahead, pencil neck. Run for President.
expect some stunts from Ted Cruz if Cotton stays in the spotlight much longer.

Why not? A wet-behind-the years back bencher who knows little or nothing about the Constitution, international law, nor common sense sounds like the perfect Republican Presidential candidate to me.

I love Chix n’ waffles too. But I think I love the image of Sen. Cotton telling a national audience that “Mexicans are really just ISIL drug mules” even more . MMMmmmmm…now that’s gravy!

I would have gone with Tav Falco, but chicken and waffles will work too :yum:

Back in 2014, I often thought to myself “man, it’ll be hard to miss Mark Pryor.” But Tom Cotton has made it surprisingly easy.

A. This statement is almost completely unintelligible.
B. From what I do make out, it appears that the word “white” was left out of the bit between “great” and “hope”

A name which comes up in my ancestry is Cruz. I am negotiating with Hillary for ways in which I can eliminate all mention of that word in family documents.

" but if the Kentucky Republican Party’s central committee signs off on Paul’s proposal in August, he can run for president and re-election in 2016. "

He could always run. The issue however, still remains…he can’t be on the ballot twice, nor can he be a write in candidate while on the ballot for another position. The republican Central Politburo doesn’t get to magically waive Kentucky law, so he will still face a problem (assuming he gets that far, which is a mighty big assumption) when it comes time for the general election…either give up his Senate seat or give up Kentucky’s electoral votes. And he would have to give up the Senate seat, which makes choosing him as the GOP candidate for Senate a somewhat dicey proposition.

" An Arkansas lawmaker already has Sen. Tom Cotton’s (R-AR) prospects in 2020 on his mind. "

So he doesn’t hold out much hope for their chances in 2016. Interesting.
