She had the handicap of a decades-long campaign of denigration by the right-wing which became avidly consumed by a new generation of purported āprogressivesā, spurred on by the quadrennial Democrat from Vermont. I suspect that things will not fall the same way in for 2020.
That is unless the Bros. become impassioned as they appear to be on another TPM thread discussing certain female candidatesā performances in the recent debates.

We sometimes went there during the summer when I was a kid and the temps got into the 90s during the day, but then down to the 40s at night. Not a lot of people have thought about the infrastructure issues when everyone needs AC.

Men will vote for a strong woman, and Harris is that woman. Sheāll have a man for the Veep candidate, right now Iād guess Castro, and comparisons to Clintonās strength and smarts are less than apt nowadays. . She was all that, but she knew everything she said and did would instantly be criticized by men so she pulled her punches. Also, weāre all far more familiar with trumPPās MO on debate stages. He stalked, he glowered, etc. Harris would cut that off at the pass. She tore Barr and Sessions new ones, and sheāll do it again

Not Warren? Can you just imagine a woman as POTUS? I imagined it last time even though I wasnāt a fan. I know Clinton had decades of baggage including her husband having been POTUS. Warren/Harris donāt have all of that hanging around their necks.

Having been in Germany for much of Merkelās time as chancellor, the reality is that thereās nothing special about the gender of the person in charge.
Hope Iām around long enough to see us come to that collective realization and it be a non-issue that itās a woman or a man in there.

I never joke. Iām just dead serious, and occasionally people find it funny for some reason. Until I stare blankly at them laughing long enough that they become uncomfortable and move to the other side of the room.

If having a woman or man was a non issue, why canāt we name one woman that has been in the top dog position? Women have very different takes on things, think most are less prone to go to wars and would fight for small children.
Oh, weāre not there yet, clearly. Once it happens, Iām just saying that people will be shocked at what a non-event it is, that the world continues turning, politicians keep on politicking.
Merkelās been a very strong and long-standing leader. And you donāt see things in the German press talking about it like that she does anything different because of her gender, sheās just the leader of her party, who happens to be a female.

I understand that but it would be nice to experience it. Women are still not equal I donāt care what anyone says. The most qualified woman ran against a gangster and the gangster won. There is a big bias.

Oh, Iām all for it, Warren or Harris would be fine. And most assuredly one of those will make the ticket, at least, and even VP would be a massive step.
