Guess Trumpās found a new lapdog. Congratulations!
āAnd that makes any measure the President takes on the border totally veto proof."
Wait, what? I thought veto proof meant the Congress can override Trump.
I am becoming a psychotic by osmosis just reading this maniacs daily drivelā¦
He just throws shit up against the wall and d stooges like McCarthy grin and nodā¦as though lobotimized.
OK, continue assholes. Any Repuke House members who are in tight districts will be in trouble in 2020 if the tariffs get enacted.
Trump: āLetās kill families.ā
McCarthy: āOK. Can I watch?ā
He got it completely backwards. From a meeting at the WH on Tuesday we have this quote, āRepublicans spent the lunch hammering White House deputy counsel Pat Philbin and Assistant Attorney General Steve Engel about their dislike of tariffs, threatening a veto-proof vote to nullify Trumpās national emergency declaration.ā
Calling McCarthy a lapdog insults both the independence and intelligence of lapdogs. That is one seriously stupid guy the GOP has as House minority leader.
Itās perfectly plausible that:
- McCarthy would completely misunderstand what went on at that meeting; and,
- Trumplethinskin would completely misunderstand what McCarthy told him.
With that said, Iāll believe that the Senate will vote to repeal Trumplethinskinās Emergency Declaration when it actually happens. If they override the pReshitdentās veto, Iām going to be expecting delivery of my unicorn shortly afterwards.
Some people see the economic chaos resulting from tariffs on Mexico as good news.
Yesterday the Dow was up 500 points in what has been described as a large rally fueled by the expectation that a slowing economy will force the Federal Reserve to cut its interest rate.
All that seems to matter to the investor class right now is cheap borrowing costs to buy stocks.
PS: the jobs report numbers that will be released tomorrow are expected to be abysmal.
Well, well, wellā¦letās hope this is what finally makes California rid itself of the 7 remaining pusillanimous tRump-toadying Reps in 2020. All of them will undoubtably end up supporting another one of these self-inflicting, man-made tRumpian crises that will take a huge economic toll on their state (they have the 5th largest economy in the world thanks primarily to Democratic leadership there).
The level of denial and dishonesty about what this will do to our overall economy is really hard take or make sense of at this point, especially for any CA Congresscritter. Talk about having no spine. Exhibit A ā Kevin McCarthy. The man is a fool.
The economic impact could be even more pronounced in Texas ā wouldnāt that be a hoot to see Texas trend purple.
And thereās still plenty of time before the 2020 election for the bottom to fall out of the economy. Its not like we have to wait until after an election to see how this will fuck things up.
Add a few more natural disasters and failure to provide timely disaster relief as Republicans are wont to do when it doesnāt involve their own particular neck of the woods, and you have the perfect recipe for local economic stress that constituents will long remember when election day rolls around.
Kevin is a āsuckerā of the highest degree. He had to wait until nobody else WANTED the job until he finally got it. āYoung Lionā indeed. He has nowhere else to go so he has decided he has to hook his wagon to Trump. Itās tough to be a doormat.
Bluto: What? Over? Did you say āoverā? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it. Heās rolling.
The media are such suckers. The Republicans are all bark, no bite. They arenāt going to do anything about these tariffs except bitch. When will people learn.
Translated into TrumpThink: āRepublicans agree that I was the greatest player on the Braves ever. Hit home runs every time - the fans love me.ā
there must be economic shock waves when all these natural disaster occur - not just property loss, but all those people and businesses arenāt spending money anymore - except on hotels or re-building if they can.
McCarthy isnāt the sharpest tool in the tool box. But he certainly is a ātoolā.
