The American Medical Association seems to have the impression that this tax cut healthcare bill is about healthcare.
That’s cute.
As usual, the AMA put out a last-minute tepid statement. Wouldn’t want to upset their overlords or run the risk of the GOP being mad at them. Trump might tweet something nasty.
So thanks - but where were you during the debate?
What debate?
Blah, blah, blah. Unless their opposition means they will no longer contribute to the campaigns of the repeal supports, they’re just putting on a PR show exactly like Johnson, Paul, Collins and the others.
Money is the only thing they care about. None of them fear the voters.
McConnell added "Medicine, schmedicine! Science, schmience!
GOP: Our plan will allow you to keep your Doc, just don’t listen to what they have to say for now.
I meant rhetorically the debate the public has had sans the actual bill. The AMA could have set some parameters for what they would require for any support. You know, EHBs, expanded Medicaid, etc. Just because the government didn’t bless our public debate, we’ve been doing this for months.
They have opposed it, before, during and after the House vote, using fairly strong language. (Along with pretty much every other provider and patient advocacy group…)

Why does the AMA hate America?
Counting down to when the recessive leftovers of evolution (i.e. McConnell) throws a hissy fit and then shits his pants due to the AMA throwing facts at him
This needs to be repeated over and over again by the Dems. Forcefully.
This is in fact a tax cut bill, for highest income levels, and emphatically Not a health care bill.
I wish the Democrats would find some energy, some real passion.
Hate is an infinitely easier to mobilize source of passion than intellectual rigor. It’s part of why our political landscape is so skewed. Nerds don’t often make passionate arguments – they are nerds because their reason trumps their emotion.
