Y’all do realize that Bat Boy was Weekly World News, right? And that that publication was a satire of rags like the Enquirer?
In fact, it was itself the subject of a sort of catch-and-kill by David Pecker and AMI about a decade ago. Imagine if Fox News had bought the Comedy Channel and fired Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. That is effectively what happened.
I have a couple rolls of pennies I can throw in for ownership. Then I will offer it to the Navy for gunnery practice (after I go through the safe).

I was just thinking about the first time I ever heard of Raquel Welch.
More than 50 years ago, I was in a laundromat and someone had left a copy of this rag. I picked it up to read while my clothes washed and there was a nice little article about this beautiful starlet and I thought that was nice, but then came something about some mutant from outer space blah blah blah and I realized what a piece of trash I was holding.
Lucky for the lovely Raquel, she did fine despite the early association (in my mind) with the creeps who put together the National Enquirer. But for the current owners to say they are disgusted to find out what goes on there, it’s just astounding. They were fine with it as long as they weren’t subject to payouts.
I’m surprised these people are allowed within 1000 feet of a public school.
