You cannot be an American in the “Party of Trump”.
I think they want the rest of the USA to suffer as they have, like the saying, cutting off your nose to spite your face. Many parts of the country are trying to change, and usually it is Democratic (with a capital D) voting that helps it along, so of course they will vote GOP just because. I have visited SE MI often to visit family over the summers and the roads suck and the economy is stagnant–each successive summer downtown KZoo (the closest city to our relative’s home) and Paw Paw seemed to show more closed storefronts. It is a lovely area and businesses are attempting to come in to replace the loss of industry/blue collar jobs–many which fled south (but not south of the border as Trump has brainwashed them to think) for non union labor and other factors to raise profits and lower costs for the corporations.

Trump did worse in his district than Romney did. He did better in redneckistan, but worse in the devos archipeligo.
