Discussion: AMA Doubles Down On Obamacare Repeal Criticism After House Vote

Medical Directions. Apply pressure where necessary. Like the US Senate.

Republicans don’t listen to anybody who actually know stuff. They listen to their base who know nothing and will blame the consequences of bad legislation on Democrats. This whole schtick is the reality show of Trumpkins putting one over on America. His “victory lap” speech was totally nauseating. I had to turn it off so I didn’t lose my lunch.

Chuck. Can I call you Chuck?

Unless you can get real improvements to the AMA, e.g., single payer, oppose this legislation and the GOP. You will be under a lot of pressure from both the GOP and the MSM in the form of the optics police, the both sides brigade, the double standard fellowship, and the false equivalence warriors. The NYT and WAPO are probably already writing opinions that the Democrats need to show bipartisanship and cooperate, and compromise ‘for the good of the country’. This is, of course, bullshit, because the ACA, as so many have pointed out, is the minimal tool for covering the most people, with the highest economic efficiency, while maintaining our current, and very silly, employer-based system. The stool; remember ‘the three-legged stool’. If the GOP agrees to Medicare for all, sure. But they won’t. You know that. Whatever they come up with will be worse and will quite literally kill people.

Stay the course. Oppose this monstrosity monolithically. Filibuster any prosed legislation that isn’t a real improvement to the ACA. As we know from recent history, there is ZERO risk to this strategy. Make the GOP utterly own this.

Thank You.

I visited the Fox News site a while ago to read the comments. They’re positively giddy over there. Once commenter claimed that this is a victory for “people who work for a living.”

Another claimed that “preexisting conditions” is another term for “welfare.”

Yet another said, “Republicans everywhere will be having steak and champagne tonight. Go Trump!”

The dumbing down continues; now Fox-watching Republicans are bragging about drinking white wine with beef.

Who cares? Surely not our government. They don’t give a dammed if we die without any help as long as the taxes are lowered for their rich owners.

The AMA has supported far more Republicans than Democrats in past elections and fully endorsed the choice of Tom Price as HHS secretary. I think it’s a bit late for them to be playing the good guys now.

Oh, doctors What do they know about health care? Certainly Trump knows more than they do.

It took the AMA years to actually like Medicare. They fought that tooth and nail back in the day.

But we’ll take their support on this one, right?

Ditto. Like katscherger said, add me as a co-signer.

Didn’t AMA oppose health care reform for decades, if not a century?

Thanks for nothing.

From Andy Borowitz:

“Trump Supporters Celebrate Imminent Loss of Their Health Insurance
From coast to coast, Americans who voted for Trump expressed jubilation at finally being relieved of the burden of being insured in the event of catastrophic illness.”

Friday’s NY Daily News cover featuring the grinning shitstain.

But we’ll take their support on this one, right?

Yeah, but that doesn’t mean I’ll trust them.

searing stupidity.

because in fact, “rednecks going to the emergency room after the four-wheeler accident / meth overdose / hunting accident and leaving taxpayers on the hook for the bill” is another term for “welfare.”

Everybody has pre-existing conditions, so effectively everyone will get a price hike.

The bottom line is that Republicans have passed a law banning consumers from buying insurance for the conditions they need to be insured for.
