Discussion: Altered Facebook News Headline About Confederate Statue Jolts Virginia Governor Race

Two Democratic candidates for governor of Virginia …

“Cannabilism is such an ugly thing to watch, isn’t it?” Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam asked former congressman Tom Perriello.

“Oh, I don’t know, Ralph. Sometimes it actually seems kind of charming in a macabre, Southern Gothic sort of way. But you have to admit, at least they’re focusing on the single issue most important to their voters.”

“That’s true. They’ve certainly captured that rabidly antebellum ethos. Another julep?”

The Lee monument at the center of this dispute is in Charlottesville, where the City Council has voted to rename Lee Park and study the possibility of relocating the monument elsewhere. The photograph at the top of the article is the much larger Lee monument in Richmond. It’s misleading.

Corey Stewart’s hack hireling: “This is why Trump won”. No dill weed, Trump lost the Commonwealth of Virginia. And we haven’t celebrated Lee’s birthday for a very very long time.

The bigger question is why do conservatives like Stewart, who love to shout about freedom and liberty being under attack have a soft spot for the confederacy?

“This is kind of why Trump won,” Shaftan said.

Precisely. He won by lying to people and manipulating the media. Oh, and with a little help from his friends in faraway places.

You are correct. Monument Ave in Richmond. I used to see it every day when I woke up out the window (I lived on Monument Ave.). Its a truly beautiful street

Because the “freedom” and “liberty” they desire is the “freedom” and “liberty” to subjugate black and brown people.
