This is where his sheer stupidity is really on display. He saw that Democrats were furious at James Comey for going against all protocol and announcing reopening the email investigation out of fear of being yelled at by right wing conspiracy theorists after the election, and decided that that meant Democrats would applaud his firing Comey to obstruct the Russian conspiracy investigation. He seemed genuinely surprised that that didn’t happen.

Now he sees that some across the spectrum are against our sending soldiers all over the world, and decides that they’d applaud an abrupt pullout that abandons the Kurds to the authoritarian leader of Turkey.

His evil is often in the forefront and his utter stupidity more of something for comic relief, but his sheer, abject stupidity is also extremely dangerous.

What a surprise, turns out that Trump is the real victim after all! Tell it to the paintings, 2 Scoops.

I know I will get bashed here, but here goes. Lindsay talking about a slow withdrawal or a withdrawish interruptus is too easy a target.

A couple things here.

This is what happens when your campaign promises are built on the shifting sands of ignorance and deceit, when you’ve lied egregiously to your base for cheap political support and are now hamstrung by reality.

The other thing is, apparently, the only thing that could change Trump’s mind is bad press. He doesn’t care to drill down to why his advisors feel so strongly about staying, or, at least, withdrawing slowly. They may be wrong, but a real President would actually have respect for the process and gather information through the many sources available to a President.

“Alone at White House” is also telling. For most people, if they were going through rough times as Trump obviously is and especially during the holidays, their spouse would stand by them instead of hightailing it to a fancy resort. I know he deserves it, but this is also not normal.

“If Mexico isn’t going to be made to pay for a wall, that means funds must be found internally. As a wealthy man, the president might consider pledging some of his own funds as well. Whatever it takes, just so long as we don’t add to the debt that is bankrupting our great country.”

— Rep. Walter Jones (R-NC), quoted by Roll Call.

As usual, Donald, you are the primary source of your own bad press.

Sure, Walter. But you guys passed a Trillion and a Half Dollar Tax Cut–That’s Trillion with a T. So anything you have to say about the economics of government is BS.

Well, Mar-a-Lago just found their last ditch attempt to save their NYE party with the gullible rich morons–er, astute club members. They can roll out the Jumbotron and play Fox on the big screen and will be just like His Orangitude is there with them.
