Haven’t heard any explanation from anyone about how those 65 female “character witnesses” were brought together so quickly. One can only assume that someone smelled this coming and had the letter ready in a drawer in case this came out.

This is a really difficult situation and we need Mr. Trump’s wise counsel (I mean wise Council) to help clarify things. Won’t you weigh in on twitter Mr Trump to let us know how you feel about Kavanaugh’s accuser and the good character of his loyal friend, Judge? America waits for you. (Plus we want you to do everything you possibly can to ensure a blue tsunami in November.)
(In the meantime, Trump has gone into virtual hiding. He cancelled two Nazi rallies and has not made a public appearance since last Tuesday. What’s going on?)

No please don’t go that direction. What happened, happened 35 years ago. The statue of limitations has passed. The victim was harmed and is dealing with the harm. What needs to be looked at is the Republicans’ response to trying to wallpaper over the incident.
Kavanaugh’s nomination process was held up for over 200 days when he first was nominated for the bench. This man has way too many secrets in way too many closets. Would this be why McConnell didn’t want him as a Supreme Court nominee this time?
I was going to come here to say that high school kids say a lot of transgressive things without really thinking or knowing about the real import, but reading that yearbook page it’s clear that they were entitled gits that were complete and total shits.

On another thread here at TPM a reported named Dan Lippman said he began contacting women on the List of 65 and only TWO gave the same full-throated recommendations; two dozen had No Comment.

It was merely a “youthful indiscretion.” I hold out some faint hope that this might actually be enough to sink the nomination, but I’m fully prepared to be disappointed. Kavanaugh refused to answer so many questions during the hearings that it was patently obvious he was ready to lie. Further, this president* has no business making any nominations while he and his “Administration” are under criminal investigation. The whole thing stinks.
I hope they don’t bring out a Catholic priest to attest to his character. They are having a tough time lately.
