Discussion: All Women Dem Senators Rally For Hillary Clinton 2016 – Except One

Discussion for article #243311

Thank you Senator Warren.

Sen. Barbara Mikulski
“… a second Clinton in the White House would ensure that generations of young women would view a female president as a normal course of American progress.”

Sen. Tammy Baldwin
“I want every young woman, every young girl, to be able to look at the president of the United States and see someone who looks a little bit like herself,”

I never knew women to be that insecure.

Because they’re going to make Warren’s endorsement a separate event closer to the primaries.

I think fairly highly of and have a good deal of respect for both these ladies. I say, good for you, Senator Warren. This is strategy and using it well. Proper and fair economic regulation is supremely important right now.

Just look at the other side and you’ll witness the uber-wealthy basically afraid of one of their own all because they’d have to endure weeks of personal hate and extremely childish antics directed at them. Look, they created this atmosphere – let them breathe it in.

“She’s got the right stuff and it’s her time to be president,”

I can agree with the first part, but don’t embrace the “it’s her time” reasoning.
She is the most qualified based on the strength of her resume and not some jus’ because inevitability.

Exactly! While there are many wonderful women Senators on the D side, none has quite the star power or following as Warren. She is well-respected and has a lot of sway with some parts of the Democratic base. Her endorsement, frankly, means a lot more on it’s own and should be a separate event.

She has been promoting a corporate tax overhaul recently and by withholding her endorsement, she maintains leverage among a Democratic field courting her support.

I think that’s pretty delusional. HRC is increasingly looking like she’s running away with the nomination. She doesn’t at all need Warren’s endorsement, although it would certainly help bring together parts of the base. Warren could endorse Sanders and it wouldn’t move the needle an inch because Sanders already appeals to the very people for whom Warren’s endorsement would actually matter.

I love President Warren. Whoops…did I call her President Warren? Freudian slip. But, seriously, I love President Warren.

Might as well stack the deck and fend off the inevitable breathless stories about Warren not endorsing her. You know those types of stories…

Yeah, it’s a bummer she didn’t run and may regret it. HRC as president will do her best to marginalize Warren as fringe liberal if Warren attempts to obstruct Hillary’s first year new president policy objectives. That would be exciting.

Why I have respect for Elizabeth Warren. Wish she were my senator!! Instead we’re stuck with blue dog Donnelly!!

Why is the omission of one endorsement such a big news story? For the Republicans, one meager endorsement for the candidate (i.e. NH paper for Christie) becomes headlines news - but for the Democrats, missing one endorsement is a sign of imminent decline. Double standard, anyone?

You’re kidding, right? Women have not seen themselves represented in the top executive position (They couldn’t vote at one time either), so it isn’t insecure to be encouraged by believing it is possible. I would imagine many black Americans felt similarly about the election of President Obama.

You couldn’t pick two women so far from insecure. Get a grip on your Hillary Hatred.

Thank you! The news story is that so many senators (women or not) came together to support Hillary at this event.

That Warren did not should not mean a thing. She’s a woman so she must follow the other women to the bathroom? Really?

We women are independent sorts and don’t share a single brain.

They were the only two quoted and it’s clear I wasn’t referring just to these two senators. But the idea that women need a woman president, for whatever reason to make their lives complete, is just over the top BS.

Woman are far more practical than men simply because of the way things are. Do you really think women give a shit what the president’s gender is? Sure, the cherry on top would be nice but equal pay for equal work is far far more important. Do you really think HRC is going to push for equal pay for equal work because she a woman? She’ll give it the same lip service Obama has given race relations and equal pay these past seven years.

Warren will be a staunch ally of Clinton’s when she’s in the White House. It’s in the best interests of both of them. Mainly, endorsements are bullshit. A NH paper endorsed Christie and they have endorsed very few winners. P.S. If you think the women cited here are insecure, you have to look around more closely.

One so seldom reads trolling here anymore, I forgot what it looks like, thanks for the reminder.

No, as I stated, they were the only two quoted and I think the world of both of them but understand how I created the confusion . I’m well aware of the sacrifices women make every day. You will not find a bigger supporter of women’s rights.

“Warren will be a staunch ally of Clinton’s when she’s in the White House”

I hope you’re right and maybe I’m overreacting but I see the two of them butting heads if HRC is president.

It’s been under discussion for a long time that absent Warren running for the presidency she would be in the perfect place to counsel Clinton on financial issues.
