Discussion: Alison Grimes Touts Bill Clinton Endorsement In New Ad

Discussion for article #228353

I don’t know, I’ve kind of lost hope in this race, unfortunately.

Where is Bill’s other hand? Good ad, but I remember in 2010 when the Big Dog came to Syracuse to stump for Dan Maffei (and other Dems in neighboring CD’s). It was an awesome appearance, but all for naught.

This seems a bit different. I think she could win.

Nice ad, but probably too little too late.

It’s flipping you the bird off-camera.

Not necessarily:

Grimes is on the way up and McConnell is on the way down. There is still close to 15% uncommitted. It could still go either way.

They’re separated by 2 percentage points. Have faith…if you know what their movements are we’ll spoil their game. There are ways that a people can fight. We shall overcome their pooooweeeeer.

Oops, sorry. Had Les Mis stuck in my head there for a moment.

Yeah, seems kind of like a desperate gamble at this point, huh?

All the posters saying “all hope is lost for Grimes” are making it more of a self fulfilling prophecy, as opposed to proving all the analysts wrong and helping her to win.

Grimes has been running the kind of campaign she needs to in Kentucky. Obama isn’t popular in Kentucky, so why the hell would she be talking about Obamacare? She has been talking about the issues that affect Kentuckyians, which gives more weight to the saying “politics is local.”

Damn! The election is over a month away and folks here are doing the “this seems so desperate” routine. Really, running a positive, forceful ad with a big name 4 weeks prior to the election is considered an 11th hour act of desperation?

Maybe for the political class, but most people - including those who will vote next month - are just now paying attention. This is exactly when a candidate hoping to knock down a prominent incumbent should be calling in the big guns and running the high-profile ads.

If you ignore the obviously in-the-bag pollsters of this race (Gravis Marketing? Magellan Strategies?), Grimes very much has a shot and winning this one.

So she’s a perfect fit in the Senate as a Democrat…

Where’s his other hand? LOL. Now really, I’m sure Bill’s interest in her campaign is purely professional.

I live in Louisville, KY and the hate for Obama is hardcore in this state. In my own small workplace, there are some, the majority, who hate anything Pres. Obama touches. The level of hate is amazing. And yeah, hate is the right word.

It is far from a lost cause down here in Kentucky my dear Grindelwald, stay positive.
However, It would help tremendously if Grandpa Bubba would come down for the final barnstorming push.
