Discussion: Alabama Governor Responds To Girl's Death With Speculation

Discussion for article #227888

ā€œThere are difficulties in families. We don’t know, maybe drug related. Maybe alcohol related. Maybe family problems. We just don’t know what the situation is.ā€

Then maybe you should STFU until an investigation has been completed?

He’s a white conservative in Alabama so of course when a black child dies it’s the fault of the family, just like when a white child dies it’s the fault of some black family.

He just assumed that the KKK was involved?

So reading between the lines, it sounds like the little girl was black, meaning that the white Republican governor’s statement taps into decades of conservative rhetoric criticizing black families. If this is true, then the race of the child is relevant to this article – indeed, the article makes little sense without that fact.

There is something seriously wrong with the electoral process when an individual of self evidently low intelligence, deficient character, and ethical vacuity get elected to public office. Is the the process, or is it the voters, or is it both? Is this the best Alabama can do? Is it congenital?

Maybe he should ask Darrell Issa to investigate. I’m sure that’ll make everyone feel better.

What an ignorant ass. When you don’t have all the facts it is always better to keep your pie hole closed. When will they ever learn to just shut up?
