Discussion: Alabama GOP Senate Candidate Says US Is Divided: 'Reds And Yellows Fighting'

Only on toast or in margaritas. Where it belongs.

(Actually had an avocado margarita in Austin last week. Extremely smooth and yummy)

The green countertop matching the appliances really sells it.

What’s interesting about this race and others in the region is that everything hinges on the culture war. Full on kulturkampf.
Nothing about improving education or increasing the number of jobs in aerospace centers like Huntsville or in the auto transplant facilities from Germany and South Korea.
Ten Commandments vs broadly shared prosperity and upward mobility. H.L Mencken must be chuckling from the beyond.

Nope. The election on Sept 26th is a runoff of the primary for the Republican nomination. The Democratic candidate is not involved. The general election is scheduled for December 12th.

However a significant number of Republicans have said they’d rather vote for the Democrat than for their candidate’s Republican opponent.

And you thought Luther was Strange…

If I was looking at a form for Divine Punishment, it would probably look a lot like Roy Moore.

No, but Harvest Gold is.

Reds and yellows fighting? I guess that explains all the recent Kamikaze attacks against Native American reservations lately.

WTF? THIS is exactly why it is time to hand it off to the next generation. Judge? Go fishing. Go yell at your grandkids. GTFAway from the microphones.

So Moore is a bigot and a possible racist. Thanks AL, South and the US and I say that as a southerner.

What kind of place does this language have in a talk about god, a talk about the US or any locality at all?

How is God going to solve this division, when you go in front of an audience and use this type of language Roy? You are literally dividing us/them in the sentence you used! I am not a bigot for calling you a bigot, I am not using divisive language except to point out yours, and I don’t rely on the word God to clean up the mess that is coming out of your mouth!

If he doesn’t lose the election based on this, it just goes to show how morally fallible his voters are. Seriously, these are the same people who browbeat the American public with how ā€œchurch-ieā€ and ā€œmorally upstanding citizensā€ they are. Dude, read the actual bible! Seriously, there is a bunch more talk about forgiveness, understanding, and being kind to your neighbor or a stranger (the supper at emmaus) than about the social issues (gay equality, transgender equality, immigrant reform, etc).

Wait…is the lead black and white-faced man wearing a gold chain? I’m not sure how to react to this.

Hope this guy makes it to the Senate so that he can be a thorn in side of McConnell. Then, it will be interesting to see how long it takes McConnell to lasso and bodyslam him into submission. LOL

O yes he should. And he needs to do a documentary about Harvest Gold while he’s at it.

@antisachetdethe- there is a really good restaurant here called the Love Apple and they make a salad with beets and avocado. It’s nothing short of divine.

Reminds me of some of things my mother wore, but not as well. Then there was the year at a duty station in Hawaii. She made curtains for the porch. And a couple of pants suits. That still makes me cringe when I think about it.
