OK, we can close this thread down now. Well played, âtio.â

This election, like all elections, is about turn-out.
Will Moore suppress GOP turn-out and will Democrats in AL turn out in record numbers or not?
The write-in issue is a little different here but thatâs just another way that GOP voters fail to turn out for the party by different means.
Finally, remember that this election is only to fill out the remainder of Sessions term. In 2020 we do this all over again and even if Jones wins, itâs hard to imagine him getting re-elected. But, even for a couple years will be fun.
In related news all write-ins for âIOKIYARâ will be awarded to Moore.
âSen. Richard Shelby said he wrote in the name of a âdistinguishedâ Republican on an absentee ballot rather than vote for Moore or a Democrat.â
So he turned in an empty ballot?
Theyâre going to steal it.
It is getting very hard to tell the difference between a cult and todayâs GOP.
Busby, describing himself as a typical Alabama Republican who supports President Donald Trump, said Thursday heâs running partly out of frustration.
âI did it because I could not bring myself to bring myself to pick either of the two binary choices we have as Alabama voters,â he said. âIâm not attracted to the Moore campaign ⌠and I cannot bring myself to cast a vote for the Democratic Party to represent Alabama in the United States Senate.â
Well, to be fair, he couldnât spell Lincoln.
It will be a tiny bit of poetic justice if Republicans who canât bring themselves to vote for the obviously better candidate end up throwing the election to the candidate they hate. At least in this case, the benefit of protest voting will accrue to the more qualified and sensible candidate.
A large number of write-ins is a good thing. They are going to be almost entirely Repug protest votes of some sort, which will help Jones. Self-described typical Alabama Republican Busby was quoted as saying âI did it because I could not bring myself to bring myself to pick either of the TWO BINARY choices we have as Alabama voters,â â just another typical illiterate Repug trying to sound edjumacated, he should do well.
Closet Democrat? Siphoning off votes to let Jones win?
Presume almost all write-ins are people who could not bring themselves to vote for Roy Moore. This will reduce Mooreâs vote but adds nothing to Jones" vote total. The question is how many crossover votes (Republicans voting for Jones) that Jones needs to win. Of course turnout, especially in African American areas, will effect the outcome.
More so, heâs a Trump supporter looking to give Strange voters, a supposed alternative.
If true, then thatâs a big problem, because a Jones win needs disenchanted Strange voters to be part of any winning coalition.
Even then, the agency said, write-in votes wouldnât be counted until the seventh day after the election, when provisional ballots and absentee ballots cast by military personnel and overseas residents are compiled. So yes, the election suspense could drag on for days if itâs close.
I just want to point out how much I hate the mediasâ scramble to conclude elections like a football match at the end of election night. All votes cast need to be counted.
If, Freddy the Finger, were written in, would Moore get that vote?
Howâs about âYoung Groperâ, same?
Are we expecting the vote count down there in Alabama to be clean and fair and accurate?
Because Iâll tell you what. Iâm not expecting it to be any of those things.
Iâm pretty much expecting that theyâve already got the numbers they want written down somewhere on a Post-it note, and theyâll just wait till a few minutes after the polls close to declare a supreme and glorious god-given landslide for Moore.
No matter what the actual votes might happen to be.
They couldnât spell Grant.
