Discussion: After Trump O'Care Threats, Dems Signal Potential Gov't Funding Fight Over Subsidies

The Democrats in Congress need to stand firm and united on this and publicize to the skies the Occupant’s cynical threat to effectively cut off health care for millions of Americans.

Glad that Dems are getting in front of this rather than waiting for Rump/Price to just do it and then react. They just have to find a way to get it out to the masses that they’re proactive rather than reactive.

Withhold subsidies and watch the government shut down. I guess these shop owners have decided to protect their shop from the “mob” negotiator. They seem to have armed themselves with a howitzer.

This is getting interesting. Thanks to the Crazy Treasonous Assh*le Caucus, it seems likely that trump, ryan and mcconnell will need the votes of democrats to keep the government open in a couple weeks. Really, the question is what they shouldn’t ask for.

I know that this kind of thing is in some sense blackmail, but since the GOP already has a majority and still apparently can’t keep the government open that characterization really doesn’t hold.

What Schumer and Pelosi are doing is responding to Trump’s blackmail threat of last evening.

Wyden: Democrats “will not negotiate with hostage takers.”

The American people are not human shields.

We must fight the radical Trumplamic terrorists who threaten our nation.

As I said they would yesterday, Pelosi and Schumer are kicking Trump in the balls over this.

They also need to get in all sorts of print media and airwaves to broadcast what is happening. Half of the public (at least) isn’t paying attention. This fight needs to be broadly watched and broadly understood.

Democrats “will not negotiate with hostage takers.”

“There is no outcome in which the administration sabotaging insurance markets persuades Democrats to pass Trumpcare, a disastrous proposal which would only make our health care system worse,” Wyden said.

I like this Wyden. More like this, please.

So much for being a supposedly great negotiator. Stupid opening, easily countered and upped. He has no leverage; that was his hollow bluff. He’s completely transparent. Such a dope.

Exactly.

Why won’t our so-called President utter the words “Radical Trumplamic Terrorism?” If he’s not with us, he must be with the terrorists!

well…its about time and a good start to constantly remind everyone that the puppet and the repiglicons own health care now.

Here’s the message:

If you don’t provide the health care that Americans utilizing the ACA have come to expect (with subsidies) then the government shuts down.

Republicans shut the government down to get tax cuts for the wealthy. Democrats shut it down to save American’s healthcare.

Proud of my state’s Senior Senator on this issue. Both he and Sen. Merkley are good Senators.

Spread the word via town halls. That gets tv coverage.

Making the hostage the same as the ransom doesn’t strike me as a good strategy.
