You have to give credit where credit is due. Trump is very crafty. He has now effectively boxed in Luntz. Every time Luntz opens his mouth or impanels focus groups that trash Trump, Trump will remind everyone that Luntz has an anti-Trump agenda and he shouldnât be given any credence. I donât think these political operatives are used to being smacked down this way. They are used to the candidates being scared of them and handling them with kid gloves. BTW will Megan Kelly return from âvacationâ and start bashing Trump? Iâm betting not.

Itâs my understanding that Luntz was pretty kind of on the ropes before this debacle occurred. He wasnât getting a lot of work or facetime from the powers that be.
Now, Rump is pouring the rest of his salt shaker on the slug and watch him dissolve on the sidewalk.

Is Trump revealing the the GOP royalty are not wearing any clothes?
Trump has been successfully appealing to the racist base of the GOP. And other GOP politicians are fearful of alienating this large (25%, I estimate) part of the GOPâs supporters.
So, they get bitten in the butts by each other. AwwâŚ

I read awhile back how Luntz had stepped away from GOP politics out of frustration, meaning, the rabid base was no longer responding to craftily worded dog whistles and then falling in line behind the Establishment candidate. He saw the unleashing of the GOP base âcraziesâ and knew he could no longer corral the rubes nor monetize it.
Heâll soon enough have his Lee Atwater come-to Jesus moment and acknowledged what he has sown.

The GOP allowed the RIghtWing Noise Machine⢠to create a profitable, insurgent-oriented attack machine. Over time it trained the soft-minded, easy-to-anger populace to distrust authority (government) and politicians. Of course, the intended victims were Dems and supporters of welfare state. All the while the GOP pretended to be separate from the institutions being attacked even though the GOP and its followers all benefit from the welfare state too; itâs pretty humongous. Now they are shocked that the Trump Movement is biting them, too. Alarms are going off.

Well, first, Trump is definitely working his way down the chain of command. The only problems are that Frank isnât nearly as attractive as Megyn and has been even more famously wrong about things than she has, so this isnât much of an attack.
And I hate to agree with Frank on the âF youâ comment, but heâs right: nothing that Trump has thus far announced has much detail to it and certainly doesnât have any dollar tag associated with it. I know, heâs gonna get Mexico to pay for the wall, but letâs be honest - they arenât beholden to him. They are a sovereign nation. They could readily and easily say âF youâ right back (and in more than one language, too).
But the supporters donât care about any of that. Honestly. They donât.
They just see Trump telling truth to power. And they like it. They will continue to support, regardless of the long-term outcome. Iâd love for it to stop (except that itâs a really good show to see what inanity he will come up with next), but this thing has wheels.
