Was it a shellacking or a thumping?

They’re going to get destroyed, in PA and elsewhere. And the root cause will be their own greed and cowardice.

Neither so much as, finally, a fair election thanks to Pennsylvania Supreme Court throwing out gerrymandered districts.

“Rep. Ryan Costello (R-PA), a once promising new talent who will retire at the end of the term, called it a case of “reverse coattails” where disgust with Trump pervaded voters’ feelings about all Republican officials.”

Well, at least one retiring PA Republican had the cahones to identify the problem … TRUMP.

The party currently in power is a “fractured party?”

I wonder why.

Beat me to it. :joy:

I hear that’s the move that Melania used to snare her “man”.

Although I’m most definitely not a trump fan - it’s striking to notice the PA GOP is blaming trump and not the fact that people didn’t vote for them because they didn’t like the GOP’s positions on health care, Social Security, immigration, tax cuts, etc.

Trump is an anchor dragging down GOP candidates, but he’s not their only problem - and the GOP is unwilling to take a cold hard look at the ‘big picture’.

where disgust with Trump pervaded voters’ feelings about all Republican officials.

Maybe if they had not spent the last two years going to ridiculous lengths defending the Pestilent, voters might be able to tell Trump from other republicans.

How about calling them “the skids”!

The Republicans are a minority party outside of the South. They’ve lost the popular vote in 6 of the last 7 presidential elections and Trump was only on the ballot in one of them. They lost the House by a massive popular vote margin of over 8%, which was greater than 10% outside of the South. Gerrymandering is a powerful tool, but not powerful enough to withstand those sorts of margins. Their stand on almost every issue-health care, taxes, education, immigration, infrastructure, foreign relations-is out of touch with the majority.

The feeling of disgust with all Republican officials because of trump is well deserved.
