So, the GOP wants to turn Medicare into Obamacare. Got it.
It’s amazing… through their own incompetence, McConnell and Ryan’s GOP colleagues managed to avoid shooting themselves in the foot by not passing TrumpCare. Undaunted, the Republicans are making yet another attempt to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by attacking Medicare, thus providing Democrats and their allied organizations with another reason to keep mobilized.

Economically anxious older white voters whose retirement plans/savings took a beating in the recession, and who voted for Trump, will certainly love to hear about a Republican plan to slash the one health plan everyone over 64 relies on. Sometimes I think that Republican members of congress perhaps just aren’t very smart.
This is one of those times.
Since the Republican base is composed of elderly whites many of whom depend on Medicare, I am pretty sure this is a bridge too far. It would seem that being a Ryan Republican is being a member of a political suicide pact.

I understand the need to reduce the deficit, but if he wants to do that he ought to reduce the defense budget. I read somewhere that Republicans want to eliminate all government programs except defense, but if you eliminate all the good things government does for average Americans, why have a defense.
Because it worked so well the last time…for a smaller program which affects fewer people.
And if you compare his morals with Dennis Hastert, you don’t choose Paulie.
