They don’t call him the Moron for nothing. He thinks somehow the Dems will go for a steel wall over concrete. Has he heard one word they’ve said?
Just tell Trump that Mexico over the weekend, at no cost to the US, built a see-through wall from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean.
Hope the MSM decides it is time to take back America and lists everyone ,everyday, who is propping up Trump.
Starting with McConnell.
He’s only playing to his rabid base – it doesn’t matter what Dems say. The MAGAts love his “my way or the highway” stance, and he’s playing to the crowd. And if he eventually caves or compromises, the cultists will still stay, but the Coulters and Limbaughs will scream bloody murder. Individual-1 just can’t stand to be criticized.
Trump sought to frame a steel barrier as progress, saying Democrats “don’t like concrete, so we’ll give them steel.”
No. It’s hard to grasp just how much of a destructive, moronic, vindictive asshole he is.
And McConnell is no better, really, even if he isn’t as stupid.
I think he’s playing to his rabid self!
That too!!
I really hate the way the MSM have framed this conflict, both sides have to negotiate, both sides have to make a deal…you can’t negotiate if one side is saying I want 5.6 Billion for my wall, you get nothing from me and i’m not budging. That’s not negotiating, that’s hostage taking. Give me what i want and no one gets hurt!
“make adjustments”
eat rats?
rob banks?
Go full 2A on landlords and lenders?
Holy crap is this guy out of touch. His total eat cake moment.
adding: these people can’t even apply for SNAP or TANF or any other adjustment based on federal support as those programs are shut down.
Fat Nixon acting like Thanos - trying to kill off half the population.
If Trump gets wall funding this time, he will use the shutdown trick again and again to get what he wants. Congress will lose all power. They need to pass a budget and override his veto. Now.
I doubt McConnell cares about what people across the country think. His concern is the people who elect him in Kentucky. Something tells me they got his back on this. It would take most of the Senate Republicans to turn against him. How likely is that?
That’s cray.
Kentucky consistently relied more on federal funds than the 50-state average, with the biggest increases seen during the federal stimulus spending that followed the 2008 recession and, more recently, the state’s decision to expand Medicaid coverage to the previously ineligible working poor under the Affordable Care Act. The federal government covered the cost of that expansion.
Federal funds also help the state pay for health care, education, transportation, workforce training, infrastructure improvements and other services.

when the funds dry up, hope these folks experience some sort of awakening from their cultist slumber.
I’m saying Kentucky is Trump country. Kentucky Republicans will most likely blame the Democrats for their funds drying up. Even though Kentucky had the best ACA program, they voted for the party that promised to end it. Go figure.
Yes, understood and concur, mine was more a statement around the insanity of consistently voting against your own best self interests.
The shutdown is still an abstraction for most Americans. It will get real soon enough. When TSA walks off the job and the ATC towers are empty, air travel will be severely curtailed. That will get everyone’s attention. We are only about one week away from this happening.
I think the Dem. staffers should say “declare an emergency, use DoD monies for your wall, and end the shutdown.” The Dems can then challenge the emergency declaration in court, (which the defendant will lose.) Win-win for the good guys.
BTW, a steel bollard fence in the middle of nowhere will be breached with an oxy-acetylene cutting torch in about two hours. It is a complete waste of time and money.
Among the Republicans expressing concerns was Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, who said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should take up bills from the Democratic-led House.
“Let’s get those reopened while the negotiations continue,” Collins said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Negotiations over degrees of acceptable racism. Full speed ahead.
OMFG!
They would not even have to cut it. Just heat it up at the base and bend it over. I’m pretty sure there’s also acids that eat steel rather quickly.
Why would it take most Senate Repugs to turn against him? All the Dems would need is enough Repugs to pass their bills, and if it came to impeachment, if they ever get around to that, I think they would only need about 24.
Longer this goes on the MSM makes more cash, that is 1000% what they care about.
