I think that it’s true that President Obama and VP Biden feel that they need to do what they can for a “smooth transition”. But this is also what many people feel is wrong with the Democratic party. To say that the government is in “good hands” is really a step too far. Biden could have said “we are working with the Trumpistas on a smooth transition” which is his duty as VP. But to go beyond that with this administration just demonstrates who out of touch Biden is.

Yeah, almost as hilarious as election night. All he did was contribute to the normalization of Trumpism. Pence is a Conservative Freak, but now he has Biden’s stamp of approval. So fucking hilarious I just can’t stop laughing.

Remember the criticism we all leveled at republican capitulating to Trump: they put party over country. The sitting President has an obligation to keep the ship of state as upright as he can. He is not politician in chief. Let the folks in Congress lob the grenades, but he has an obligation to the country.

If the Prez and VP were to give full throat to their total lack of confidence in the next administration being able to manage the basic job of running the country then that will create real damage to a lot of real people.

This is precisely the message they want to convey to a very nervous world. And in point of fact, the GOP-in-charge is the ugly American world that most of the rest of humanity has come to see as business as usual for the USA. Obama was for them such an aberration! (and so he was also for America itself).
