Well we know that worked for the guy at the Walmart who was preparing to take down a shooter, but another shooter was already in the building and shot him in the back of the head. Maybe thatās why we donāt hear about it. Just saying.

Whenever this comes up, I wonder: what is the appropriate penalty for a āgood guy with a gunā that kills an innocent bystander?
Do we differentiate between someone who was not armed to begin with and picked up a gun and used it spontaneously, versus someone who āexercising their constitutional rightsā was already carrying?

Letās imagine that a few of the roughly 200 people in that San Bernardino conference facility were armed and decided to shoot back at the attackers. I would bet that instead of 12 people dead there would be dozens.

One of these days, very soon, a good guy with a gun will mistake another good guy with a gun for a bad guy with a gun. As these two good guys exchange fire in public, other good guys with guns will join in to create a circle jerk of friendly fire deaths all of whom died thinking themselves a hero. I wonder how the media will cover that.

Weāre all sitting in a restaurant eating and drinking & talking with our various companions or reading a book, each table total strangers to every other table.
Suddenly, gun shots. Look up and thereās a man with a gun, shooting. Suddenly another man stands up with a gunā¦and another and another and anotherā¦bullets flying, blood squirting, bodies fallingā¦
So I stand up, my gun in handā¦and all this within a split second, I have to decide WHO TO FUCKING SHOOT because HOW THE FUCK do I know which are the āBad Guys With Gunsā and which are the āGood Guys With Gunsā???
So I just shoot anyone and everyone holding guns and I get shot because EVERYONE ELSE WITH GUNS IS THINKING EXACTLY THE SAME THING!
And somehow, this keeps everyone SAFER??? Sounds pretty fucking INSANE to me.

Next weāll be hearing and reading about how the āgoodā Sheriff is one of those Constitutional Sheriffs or Oaf Keepers, or at best a signatory to one of those Posse Comitatus or RWNJs sovereign citizens groups. So many dumbass people these days elected to law enforcement that have no business in law enforcement. Time to drain the swamp.

I must be getting old, because I remember when there were cops who wanted fewer guns out walking around in public, because they figured with fewer guns there was a lower chance that youād have blamblamblamming and screaming and bleeding and dying going on all the time. The fuddy-duddies! Now the po-lees are MASTERS OF LOJIK who understand that if gun violence is making you blue, turn that frown upside down and get yourself a gun or two, because if everyone has more and more guns, together weāll be able to shoot our way to a brighter tomorrow.

Great point!.. Though there is something to be said for the experience of having one guy with a gun shoot you front to back while the untrained Paul Blart wannabe shoots you through-and-through back to front along the exact same path as the perpās round so there is still just the one ingress and exit wound.
