From The Guardian’s Ben Jennings
He looks like an Oompa Loompa more than ever in the top left photo.
The Trump WH narrative depends on what the ratings/polls/F&F have to say in the morning. He is obsessive about it. If he’s not tweeting, he’s railing at the TV. The people he has surrounded himself with have bowed down to his bullying. There is no ‘truth’ coming from any of them.
Anybody remember the glory days of Kremlinology?
Now we are doing it with our own leaders…
@rickjones Nobody knew that getting everyone to believe your lies about such easily disprovable things could be so hard.
“You submit to tyranny when you renounce the difference between what you want to hear and what is actually the case.”
From “On Tyranny” by Timothy Snyder. A great, chilling, inspiring little book recently out from an old bud (Brown classmate it appears) of Josh’s.
Just because a bad man deserves his fate, doesn’t make it right or wise to give it to him. This is true of many criminals. It’s clearly true of Comey, and even more clearly true of The Rump himself. There’s simply no better replacement on deck.
You are absolutely correct. I was thinking the same thing
“Joe , isn’t it about time you admitted that you really wish you were a part of the adult party, , the Democratic party, the only people actually interested in governing?”
And even better let the Russians come into the Oval Office with their equipment to scan the security measures. It’s just amazing how many devices also contain a camera.
Even eggs don’t get this scrambled
@tao It’s just amazing how many devices also contain a camera.
And conversely, how many devices can be crammed into a couple of cameras. Did anyone look into the briefcase that Kislyak was carrying? Or would that have been rude? I mean, they wouldn’t try any funny business, would they?
“He had never been solidly on board with keeping Comey for the long term, and the erosion of confidence had been taking place over a long period of time.”
Obvious reporter follow-up question: “Then why did he lie to the American people and say he had confidence in Comey?”
Trump is mentally ill. He lives in a fantasy world he creates himself in order to protect himself from the guilt of his own responsibility. As President, he has the power to enforce his own fantasy on all of those around him. That makes him extremely dangerously mentally ill and a threat to everyone in the world.
Politically it is extremely inconvenient for the GOP to have to enforce Trump’s fantasies on the rest of us, but it doesn’t seem to be that different from the fantasies of conservatism, so they protect their political offices by protecting the madman in the White House.
How quickly we forget the lessons we should have learned under the management of Bush the Lesser, our first MBA president and a bidnessman who couldn’t find oil in Texas.
You know things are really bad when you scroll through the presidential succession scheme in 3 U.S. Code §19 and can’t find Kiefer Sutherland.
The cover-up of the cover-up of the cover-up that’s bad but not as bad as the actual crimes.
Losing count, so many cover-ups, so many crimes.
Waiting for Trump to tweet “I am not a crook” in 3…2…1…
The Arrogance and Smugness of the blubberous behemoth of ignorance in the oval office is unrivaled in American history. It calls to mind, the title of the book about Michelangeleo , " The Agony and the Ecstasy". The agony I am feeling as I see him decimating our democratic institutions without receiving any backlash from Republicans in the Senate and House. In fact, they are his most powerful enablers. Ryan and McConnell trip over each other to keep him buffered from attacks by the public.
I now wait for the ecstasy I will feel if, and when, he is impeached for his outrageous and illegal behavior.
Ryan, the little Catholic choir boy, has transformed himself into a modern day Pontius Pilate in order to get Trumpanzee to buy into his cruel, heartless plan to destroy Medicaid and The Affordable Care Act, and, above all, give large tax breaks to the most wealthy people in the nation.
He will resign before Summer ends, probably before the 4th of July. I’m guessing that will happen when he is caught standing on the balcony outside the White House, fully naked, trying to demonstrate to the world that his tiny hands indicate nothing else. I’m not a psychiatrist, but figuring out what makes Donnie tick doesn’t require one.
Like everything else, Donnie will get it wrong and tweet “I am not a cook”.
No worries. I am sure the Russians were just dropping in to check on their plant.
